As I am looking for a new list idea could anyone tell me the best ways of setting up a lord on a jetbike and what you would accompany them with??
Personally if you want to go a jetbike lord I would use the following
Jetbike, punisher, tormentor helm, combat drugs, shadow field...
this will give you a strength 5 standard up to strength 6 with the combat drugs.
That is just my thoughts anyway.
There is nothing more annoying when your Wyches with Plasma Grenades get "Always strikes First" for their combat drugs!
Cheers I thought about this but was unsure about commiting the shadow field to him if I was running another lord but I think this may be the right idea.
Yes give him the shadow field, he will be a lot of points that you don't want going down the tubes.
Prey they don't take you alive
Who else could possibly be more worthy of a shadow field than your Archon/Archite? They are Melee powerhouses that you dump tons of points into. I had a Bloodthirster wound my Archon like 8 times and I saved them all!
But I personally keep my Archon with an Incubi retinue. Drachon is the one I put on a bike. Drachon has the Punisher, Archon has Agonizer.
If I had to give him a jetbike then I would set him up this way:
Archon, reaver, punisher, t-helm, shadowfield, drugs, t-rack & plasma
Since the new FAQ allows us to take a punisher then you might as well take advantage of it. While play testing his strength 5 (6 with drugs) I have found him to easily penetrate AV10 vehicles like landspeeders, rhinos and pretty much any non-walker transport.
I wouldn't put him with anyone, he rides solo. If you are into bikes then he would ride with them but I would prefer him riding on his own out of a portal.
"On a hunch, I melted them down and inhaled the fumes and read the dark eldar codex again, AND FOUND A BUNCH OF NEW RULES HIDDEN BEHIND THE OTHER WORDS..." [Gardeth on modelling & interpreting the DE Codex]
35+20+5+25+25+2=112 pt from armory.....not allowed
Read the codex carfully it says 'you can also pick 100 points of wargear' which is after weapons so you are the 100 points only applies to the tormentor helm, plasma grenades, jetbike, shadowfeild and drugs which is 5+2+35+25+25=92 so it is legal.
