so not to be daft or anything but...GS have to take tests for losing 25% to shooting or
loosing combat (it can happen ...darn i hate Harliquines init. 7...) etc ...right?
i know they are not under synapes exactly like other broods (as it notes in their entry they have their own brood synapes- i did read my codex).they have to do normal morale checks...does that equate with Leadership tests?
what about charging terrifying enemies that require Leadership tests?
(ps how does that work with normal gaunty synapes...they just pass right?)
pps. also do ravenors need synapes...?
if they are within synapse they get the bonus - so they auto pass.
Outside of synapse they operate like a normal non-nid unit - taking moral tests and the like. Their brood telepathy mearly allowed them to operate as a normal unit when outisde synapse influence

hence if under synapse they pass any leadership based test except psychic ones. This includes fear tests and Dark Eldar terrorfexes.
If not under synapse they do not take IB tests but if they loose 25% they will be forced to take a test and they may also be pinned.
Gaunts and Raveners both need synapse. If they are not under ynapse at the start of a turn they must take an IB test or become lurking.
Dear Game Developer,Caps-Lock, its like cruise-control for AWESOMENESS!
Rock is cheese, Paper is just fine
WWP and other Dark Eldar how to
basically what everyone else said. It's REALLY easy to miss, but if you check your codex, under the Brood Telepathy rule for Genestealers you'll see it says "If OUTSIDE the range of a synapse creature..."
Synapse is awesome and all my friends HATE not being able to insta-vape my warriors with their crazy lascannons.
