Iv worked out a army list, infact a few based around a kult of speed themed army,
Now im taking Wazdakka and a Warboss for my HQ, but havint an issue over which of my two nobz mobs to take they are both the same number of Nobz 5 + 1 pain boy, Power Klaws, Boss Pole and Waagggh Banner with cybork bodies,
But i cant decide to take them on Trukks and supprot my two other troop choices of ork boyz in trukks or put them on Bikes and rush around killing things along with my biker boyz, the diffrence is points, on the Trukk they are 390 , on bikes 475
Some oppinons would be greatly appreciated , im aware there is no 'best' unit in a wargame, but which would be more suitable for an all around approach.
I like Biker Nobz. They are tougher, faster, and come with more dakka. A mob in a Trukk is also good, but it's quite easy to have their ride shot out from under them and then they are finished. Bikers always maintain their speed and can take even more punishment thanks to T5 and cover, plus those dakkaguns are nothing to sneeze at.
I'd say it's a matter of preference. If you already have other Trukka mobs or BW mobs, a Trukk is fine. If you're light on vehicles, go for Bikes.

I take 10 Nobz in a trukk and put the trukk so when it disembarks its troops, units can't get a line of sight of the nobz on their turn. Thats the way I'd do it.
Red ones goes faster - it's true :)Ork Freebooter Crusaders!3/0/1
My favorite type of nob is actually meganobz, with a warboss w/mega armor, cybork and bosspole attached, all in a red trukk with a ram. I usually hold them in reserve, so they're guaranteed at least one full move towards the enemy. So far it's worked out great.
I assume you don't have meganobz though, so I'd definitely go with the biker nobz. They're expensive, but they're great as long as you set them up like this, with a warboss (w/powerklaw and cybork) attached:
5-8 nobz w/2-3 powerklaws, painboy, cybork, wauugh banner and bosspole
Now that's a unit that can take on the world.
I find that regular nobz in a trukk don't seem to perform any better than the same number of points in boyz, and they often perform worse. Instead of one trukk full of nobz, I'd play 2 trukks of regular boyz. The only time I play regular nobz in trukks is when my list has too many trukks in it, providing too many kill points. In that case, I'd merge two trukks into one trukk full of nobz, although I'd still probably use the meganobz instead.
Still, if you're going to use regular nobz, I'd use them like this, with a warboss w/cybork, eavy armor and powerklaw attached:
7-10 nobz w/2-3 powerklaws, painboy, cybork, wauughh banner, bosspole, trukk, ram.
They're not as scary as the bikers, but they are a bargain.
As has been suggested, I run my Nobz 5x on bikes, all the upgrades (2x PK, pole, banner, cyb, pain) and a Warboss in tow. I find it to be the best balance between survivability, killyness, and cost efficiency. Footslogging Nobz aren't worth it, even with a transport, and Meganobz are awesome but much more role specific (have to put them in just the right place at the right time).
Two's to kill. Ahh, sweet sweet music.
Well you are playing KoS so it is tempting to take a trukk for the Nobs. I much prefer the added toughness of the bikes and their superior mobility. I will break down the Ravensquig philosophy a bit.
The tactics for Ravensquig have changed a bit since the onset of 5ed rules. Nob bikers can start on the table - they are durable. I presume you are using Wazdakka though so that you can add warbikers as troops? I like to keep the warbikers in reserve but Wazdakka on the table attached to the Nobs to start. You can also keep a trukk mob in reserve for you list. Nob bikers are fast abnd durable. Warbikers in squads of five are easily shot down and the extra two turns in reserves meansd two less turns of fire. As for the size of my Nob biker squad I always go six plus a boss. Now be careful configuring your squad. Make sure each Nob has a different piece of wargear so any wounds can be spread around the whole squad. This is a major improvement in 5ed. I take one PK, one Kombi-Scorcha, one Waagh banner, one Painboy, one Bosspole and one regular Nob or big choppa Nob. With the warboass you have two PKs, Scorcha, Choppa and FNP and a bucket load of attacks if needed. Know that nobs can take out squads with their dakka alone at times. Use the bikes mobility to your advantage.
If you are using Wazdakka remember that he can turbo-boost and fire! I attach at the start and then detach him to join my warbikers when they arrive unless i decide to field one squad and keep the remaining in reserve.
The list using Waz, nob bikers and warbikers benefits a lot by taking some TL rokkit Koptas or some Kommandos. I've used both quite successfully. I now have 14 Nob bikers, two Biker bosses, Wazdakka, ten warbikers and three TL Koptas. It is an effective list, believe me. The best part is that you can play around with it and decide at any time to add trukk mobs, Burnas in a BW or Meganobs and still be effective with an altered list.
Good luck and happy gaming!
