For the challenge. They do not have the range or fire power of the Tau or IG. They do not have the resilience or CC ability of the BA. You have to use their mobility which is better than the other three armies you play. Their firepower is good, but you have to maneuver to use it right. I'd go with vanilla eldar, Ulthwe, or Biel Tain until you learn them. The other craftworld armies are more difficult to use, especially Iyanden.
The fire's going out...pass me another heretic.
OK there is only one reason - cos you want to, hence there is no point in us telling you why play with them, what we can do is give you a flavour of them to help you decide weather or not you want to play with them.
Eldar are: (an enigma wrapped in a puzzel etc)
most eldar units are very good at doing one thing, and usually that is only good against a sepcific type of army, case in point: banshees are designed to charge troops with a save or 3+, if they are miss used, they tend to be rather pathetic (fragile and die easily), you can go beserk and get ton of wraith lords or power game, but eldar are far more suited to the style over substance player, those who do not play with power game armies but rely on style and skill to win, or like me, enjoy the syle so much they dont really care if they win
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Because the Eldars are pretty balanced in each domain, depends what you like...
Also the Eldar provide a unique tactical army, Each squad (as has been said) is good at one thing and crap at others, so this means you have almost limitless squad combinations specifically suited for a particular opponent.

When used right, the Eldar are the bane of everything.
Space Marines are easy to use since they all are rather balanced and have few specialised troops.
The trick is to have the right squad in the right place at the right moment.

Eldar.... Let me tell you something about eldar.
If you like cheese.... Don't play eldar.
If you like winning without even thinking... Don't play eldar.
If you like building the ultimate list that will take out any opponent.... Don't play eldar.
If you like having tough as nails, take on all comer, type units... Don't play eldar.
If you like finesse... Play eldar.
If you like a challenge... Play eldar.
If you like the idea of winning because you Out-smarted, Out-maneuvred, and ran circles around your opponent.... Play Eldar.
If you want to known as "That Eldar guy is spooky, you never know what he's going to try".... play eldar.
The Eldar are a Varsity level army. They are not for beginners or the slow of wit. You have to know the game, know tactics, and know your opponent to win with them.
The Eldar have some of the best fluff, best looking models, and very versatile themes.
Just some thoughts.
I play Saim-Hann Wild Riders and enjoy every battle, even the time I took a crazy list of 9 vypers and 12 jetbikes and pretty much lost the game before I ever had a turn. Yes 7 vypers destroyed in the first round before my turn.
Jack of all trades, master of none.
lol zebadiah thats great... haha
I like to think of playing eldar like this: It's like being a King Cobra and the other guy is a football player with a bat. If you don't use your quickness and bite him quick hes gonna club you to death
Alas, I love my Eldar and have sort of drifted away from my other armies cuz I like them so much
Eldar are a great and fun army but they're nothing like tau blood angels or IG. Eldar are very good when used right and they have a lot of good guy's like wraith lords and dark reapers. So I say start Eldar
