Hey guys, long time 40k player, new Necron player. My friend and I were playing today and we came upon two wierd technical problems that I'm presenting you with today. In our first game, my necrons vs. his sisters, my nightbringer beat the Canoness and her group and ended up chasing them down after combat. What we were wondering was if you chase down someone with, say, Bionics (or anything that allows a chance to come back to life), does the Nightbringer C'tan drain life rule apply to a chase down?.. as opposed to her just dying by my attacks.
My next question, which im also going to ask the Tyraninds forum: My nightbringer was fighting the hive tyrant who had implant attack. As luck would have it, i missed ALL my attacks =[, and he managed to put 2 wounds on me (i saved one, failed one save, and I got two wounds due to the implant). Now, I lost combat, and I take two pokes from losing combat. I ended up failing both, which I thought would leave me with 1 wound left, BUT, my friend brought up the fact that it was the tyrant doing the "pokes", would those pokes do implant attack as well?
I appreciate any feedback! =]
Part 1 answer: If the enemy is chased down there is no hope of return regardless of who chases them down. This is why there are no WBB rolls for chased down models for example.
Part 2 answer: You have 1 wound remaining. If you lose a combat against a squad of say pariahs, are fearless and take X wounds you still get saves, displite the fact the warscythes would ignore this. The only exception I am aware of is when the winner has insufficient strength to wound the loser, ie ork boys which charged a T7 carnifex can't hurt it on subsequent rounds of combat.
As my rulebook is still in my black reach boxes (can't wait till Saturday) this isnt quoted straight from the rules but from what I remember these are true at the time of posting. Feel free to correct me with relevant page references if I am mistaken.
