I've been fortunate enough get selected for a Combat Patrol tournament at the UK Games day on 14th September
I suspect part of the reason I got selected for this is cos I said I would play Dark Eldar and nobdy else would
My normal DE army is about 2000pts but for Combat Patrol you need a 400pt army with certain restrictions (see GW Online : Warhammer 40,000 : Combat Patrol)
This has put me in a bit of a panic as I was not expecting to get selected and certainly not with only 3 days notice. I have no real time to pracitce and have never player a Combat Patrol game before.
So any advice is gratefully received.
There are no substitutes and no un-painted models alowed so I have to limit the army to what I already have painted.
My first pass on my list is:
Dracon - Punisher + Tormenter Helm
Wyches x 8 with shredder, wych weapons or plasma grenades (haven't decided yet)
Warriors x 10 with 2 Splinter cannons + 2 Blasters
Ravager 1 Dark Lance + 2 Disintegrators
Total = 399 points
Strategy is fairly obvious - Ravager takes care of anything that can hurt it easily and then mops up infantry, Wyches run forward and get involved in some CC the Dracon will go with them providing they don't roll a 12" charge for their combat drugs - The warriors shoot at what ever is availble with the Cannons whilst moving forward to get the other weapons into range.
I think that within the limitions the Ravager is probably the best vehicle available to any codex, but it will be vulnerable to a landspeeder with a multimelta
What say you?

What else do you have painted up? I'd personally toss in a haemonculi or two instead of your dracon, if only for the flamers. Aside from that, your list looks pretty solid for something only 400 points.
Hmm, I don't have any Haemonculi but looking at the stat line they could be more survivable than the dracon due to the T4 I'm not sure how compelling the destructor is considering I'm likely to be running and therefore won't get the chance to shoot, but if I give him a scissorhand he'll be 15 points or so cheaper than the dracon which means I can get two more warriors - very very tempting.
I wish I had a chance to playtest both options - I may try and pick a model tomorrow as I'll have to time to do a quick paint job on one mini.
Rep point coming your way.
You want an agoniseran plasma grens on your succusbus along with wych weapons on the wych squad.
This will give you more kick, a lot more kick It will be owrth it even if you have to drop a wych for two for it
Otherwise it looks like a good list to me. Very powerful. Just hug cover.
In these games bodies are normally what wins it, you won't run into many competitive tricked out lists so you an easily hug cover and not be too afraid of a DSing flamer (and if you do welll.... that was about 1/3rd of their army...)
Dear Game Developer,Caps-Lock, its like cruise-control for AWESOMENESS!
Rock is cheese, Paper is just fine
WWP and other Dark Eldar how to
@Splata - I haven't included a Succar with the wyches cos of the points restrictions - I was worried about sinking wargear points into a single wound model when it may be better to have more wyches.
However you make a valid point in that an agoniser does mean I can take on high toughness high armour foes a lot better. Hmm, I'll have to check the points values when I get home to see how that can re-jig.
How about the shredder in the wyche squad - I think it's a bad move, but that's the model I have so I need to use it if I want 8 wyches - if the wyches are running to get into combat ASAP the shredder may not even be used.
I don't know about you daziel but when my squads go into combat it's allmost always the single wound model with wargear that does most if not all of the damage. wyches without wych weapons is just silly, and without the succubus all they are really going to do is tarpit a close combat unit, but you won't find that many of them on the table at 400 points, especially with terminators and the ilk unavailable.
Just my 2c.
edit: Just to clarify by close combat unit I don't mean any old mob geared for chopping heads, I'm talking about units with wargear that denies saves and has high WS.

At 75 points, I'd suggest that you throw a Warpbeast squad in there. They're relatively fast, have a good amount of high strength attacks and a virtually free Agoniser on the Beastmaster.
"Is Archon Braigh-Dee going to have to choke a Wych?
