Ive been playing a a ravengaurd player recently who, on average has 3 squads of assault marines per game. Question. How to take these ****s out?
They are too fast for my reapers to kill them all and he can generally out maneuver my banshees.

does he run shrike with his squad of lighting claws friends?
I have only ever battled raven guard a few times, dark reapers are useful but will be targeted early, so either hide them where he cant even see/assault them and use your tempest launcher to take out things he can’t see, or make sure you have a scary supporting unit positioned nice and close such as an Avatar. Dire avengers with bladestorm will general takes the momentum out of assault squads as well. Wraitlords are scary as the marines wont be able to wound them if they dont get the charge (assuming they have furious charge) and even then its risky/they will be open to be shot to pieces if it dies. Power fists are your only concern here and thats why you take a farseer with mind war, so he can protect from that, and keep wraithsight in check.
Unfortunately raven guard are only going to be faster when new marine codex is released so exploit his lack of fleet while you can lol.
its not so bad just sit as far back as you can and use your shooting to wither him down, then counter with banshees/wraithlord and you should fair alright.
Maybe even use eldrad to throw him off in deployment to give you that little bit extra of shooting.
They are a tough opponent indeed but hope i could help.

I've not encountered a list quite like this but have a regular opponent who fields assault marines led by a jump packed company master. The solution that sprang up recently was to have my farseer in with a large guardian squad. Behind this unit is a unit of banshees in cover. The farseer is too tempting to pass up as a target and the guardians are under estimated. The assaulters are hit by the scatter laser on their way to the target (hopefully twice), charge, kills some guardians, gets doomed and hit with the banshees counter charge next turn. Classic bait tactic. Tried it with a chaos player and he spotted the trap but it kept his raptors away. Screening CC units with basic troopers is simple but can be effective.

Yeah it may come down to sacrificing a unit to the assualt marines just so you can get them where you want them like where a banshee squad can get to them or unload a mass of shuriken fire into them or both. Pathfinders can do a good job of this as well if you guide them.

Throw nastier combat squads back at him - throw a unit of Harlequins with Harlequins Kisses into the teeth of his biggest Assault Squad, and support them with Banshees with an accompanying Doom 'Seer. If it's combat he wants, give it to him; no point in trying to run away when you have specialist units that can potentially outclass his Assault Squads. In the end, Assault Squads are best against regular infantry, and tend to be weaker against specialist (and power weapon equipped!) combat squads, so that's definitely one route to go.
You can also grab a Wraithlord or two to count as counter charge or just ways to dissuade him from charging units near them. Who wants to get into combat with a freaking Wraithlord, after all?
I bring this up only because I have a personal love affair with shining spears. They are a jetbike CC unit sent from the heavens capable of mass destruction to both vehicles and those pesky assualt squads. Fast enough to keep up with or out run the squads they can smash them before they reach your lines or come in at the last moment to help kill them off. If you have the models I would recommend giving them a chance. Paired with an autarch that will give a potential 5 attacks he can give the unit some added punch.
Have a wraithlord and an avatar holding up opposite sides of your gunline. Have a unit of harlequins and banshees waiting nearby. Its near suicide to charge into such a line. I did this in a tournament and had no trouble with any assault based armies.
Thanks for the advice. I hope to own this weekend. I'm considering taking warp Spiders to destroy the land speders he takes

the advice given so far is perfect
Avatar with DR is a personal fav of mine ... I'll even put a small sqd of guardians with an EML in front of the DR's to absorb the charge and dish out some AV/blast firepower. Works great ... tempest ignores the cover from shooting thru the guardians, and with 4+ saves everywhere your normal DR's aren't too lagged by them. The avatar keeps everyone from running etc. then hes ready to countercharge and save the guardians while your dr exarch continues to melt faces with the tempest launcher, no cover barrage weapons at ap3 ftw.
As a side not I would have 5 DR's here as you are pretty much investing your avatar to keep the unit safe .. .so make it worthwhile
I would like to add a comment as a counter-weight to all that's been said here so far. It really likens to a different thread but it is important to remember. Try to refrain from too much tailoring of your army list to beat your opponent. especially if he is your friend. For one, it may make the game less enjoyable for the both of you. The most thrilling games are the close ones. Secondly, it will make you a better player to learn to adapt your tactics and how you use/deploy your units.
Now i'm sure he changes his army to play you some, and you doing so is equally fair. The advice here is all great. Avatar's do make great deterents. Just take it with a grain of salt and maybe make it a permenant change for you as opposed to something you do specifically against your ravenhost friend.
