Other! (see post)
So, when I first started the Tau Topic of the Week threads a good few weeks ago, they started off with banging success, much mirroring their Imperial Guard counterparts over in the IG forum. However, as the weeks started to creep by, I've been noticing a drop in the activity of the topics, until we hit this latest one (Missions/Deployments), which only has a meager two replies after a full week!
Is there any particular reason for this? Are the topics not worth posting to, not fun enough? Is there a reason that people aren't drawn to them, or that members don't want to participate in discussion? Any and all feedback would be superb, and don't forget, if you have an idea for a topic of the week thread, please send me a PM! Chances are, you'll get that as the next topic of the week.
Now, this brings me to the question... is it worth continuing these threads, for the (greater) good of the community, or is it going to end up being a lost cause?
I think its worth continuing. I myself enjoyed reading what other Tau players thought and how they played certain things. I think you just got to hit the right topic to get alot of people posting.

I'm an avid lurker of the 40k section of this forum. I pretty much read up on everything from each of the army sections. One of the most informitive threads for me are the topic of the weeks. I don't post on any of them because I have no practical expirience with most of the armies, so I can't really contribute.
Still, I love reading them.
Victory is achieved through mettle.
Glory is acheived through metal.
I agree with what others have said - great idea and please continue, but you just have to hit the right topics. You can't expect every topic to turn out well, so just keep at it!
On a side note, I currently have no ideas for topics. However, if something comes to mind, I will definitely PM you.

I just didn't have anything enlightening to add to the Missions/Deployments one. But that doesn't mean other topics won't prove more involving.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

So no I do not think it is lack of interest, so don't kill the thread as I think it is a good idea and it will only get better.
Personally, I just recently got back to college and haven't had nearly as much time to post, and the same is probably true for a large number of Forum members. We haven't forgotten about LO, we've just got a lot of changes to deal with in real life and it takes us a bit to be able to find the time for LO.
My gaming group's new motto: That army you're using is overpowered because it hurts my guys, codex is broken and needs a rewrite.
I'm new to the Tau and your topics are informative. Like other people that have responded I have only played 4 games with Tau in 5th so there's not to much I have to say. In any case keep up the good work!
