Recently became an Eldar player and immediatley fell for the farseers
Im jus wunderin how people kit their farseers out.
Singing Spear, Shrukien pistol, guide, doom, spirit stones.
for support i put him with 10 dire avengers and a wave serpent.
i use a singing spear cos its good on tanks.
What do you do?
I generally run two Farseers,
One looks like this
Doom, Guide, (sometimes mind war as well)
Runes warding & witness, Spirit stones.
The other is the same without the runes of warding.
There are two ways I play them and it depends on what army I am facing, either defensively, where they sit back, behind some cover, dooming and guiding.
Or I play them offensively, put them in a serpent with squads of avengers, jumping out to mind war any HQ/squad leaders foolish enough to get close enough. Then they doom and guide as see fit.
I don’t find Farseers essential to the Eldar war host, but they certainly tip things in our favour before the first shot is even fired.
"Playing it safe is the most popular way to fail." - Elliott Smith.
were did you get force staff from. i haven't seen anything on giving one to them.
"stupid overtime zombie virus."
"I'm glad that worked. Those would have been horrible last words."
Theoretically my farseer would never be that close to a tank, but for 3 points a Singing Spear is quite the bargain.
2000 Blood Angels (Angels Encarmine)
Well yeah even though some Farseer models have a staff modeled on them I'm pretty sure it just counts as the Farseer having a witchblade...
But yeah Singing Spear all the way. I can't even tell you how useful that thing is when a nasty tank comes into my Farseer's world.
Well the singing spear is a great buy and on a unit of warlocks with a farseer on jetbikes the spears in the air hitting a vehicle rock. I like them
on jetbikes but have only tried it once so far until I can actually model them all I had to proxy. Its expensive but an awesome unit of destruction.
I like to use two farseers as well. Alot of times one of them will be Eldrad, the man is unstoppable with a rerollable 3+ invulnerable save he is awesome.

I generally will take singing spears on them if I have points left in the end. They shouldny be getting that close to enemy armor anyway. If youre sticking one in a wraithguard squad, giving them a spear makes sort of another wraithguard as far as shooting goes ( BS4, wounds on 2+ ).
guide/doom all the way!
All depends on the role my Farseer plays.
Guide/Doom support Seers tend to get Singing Spears just in case.
Doom/Mind War tend to make do with the Witch Blade as their shooting will be Mind War
Fortune/Doom Assault Seers get a Witch Blade as their likely to about to need the extra attack to smack something round the head with.
"ask not the Eldar a question, for he will give you three answers, all of which are true and terrifying to know"
I use Eldrad quite alot, because of his versatilitiy. His special rule for redeployment can be extremely useful too.
My standard Farseer for non-Apocalypse games, is with Fortune, Doom, Stones, Witchblade, Runes of Warding; and tends to run with Howling Banshees. If I have enough points I give this Farseer a bike, so she can support multiple units more easily.
If I have points left, I'll upgrade to a Spear. They are useful if the enemy has tough units, and I can throw the spear before charging.
I'm looking to start an Eldar army, and I notice none of you mentioned Eldritch Storm. I was looking at it coupled with Doom and a squad of Dire Avengers; is that not such a good idea?
