So I was adding up the prices of a few things I need to buy to start my KoS army, and I was a little thrown off by the cost of Trukks. Yea yea, I know, $20 isn't that bad, but when you need 3-5 of them for a decent army, PLUS buggies and boyz...

So I started thinking about conversions from cheaper models, GW or otherwise. I figure that a flatbed truck model, with a few Ork sprue additions (armor plates, maybe hacking the roof of the cab off, that kinda thing) would work. And using different model kits for each trukk would make the army look a lot more ramshackle.

Anyone else convert their Trukks? And if so, with what?

On a similar note, does anyone know what scale that 40K vehicles are at? I believe it's 1:35, but I'd rather ask before buying non-GW truck kits.

Use plasticard with Ork conversions...works like a charm (that's what I used to make my battlewagon and most of my conversions)

    good luck Megalo

    EDIT/
    Looks kinda like this:

I love the Kustom Force field conversion. I also love that forgeworld battlewagon, brillant conversion job on it though.

Seriously, Dreachon, do you ever post anything other than paraphrasing the post before you?

Anyways, I guess I'll just have to buy one Trukk, use the pieces to mark up some plasticard, and make my own duplicates. At least they're so ramshackle that I don't have to worry about exactness

Basically all you need is a platform for the orks to stand on and some guns and wheels.. It looks like great fun to convert trukks, nothing to be unhappy about!

I think the standard GW trucks suck anyway, the drivers are too small and you can only fit like three orks into it...

BTW, http://www.nightserpent.com/orks.html is a great link, Xtreemedoomedass! Now it's officially bookmarked

I know this question was answered before, I remembered seeing it but I cant find it. So anyway, do Orks acually have to be in the Warturkk? I know you cant fit 10 of them, so I was wondering. They cant be shot at if you put them in a warturkk correct?
