Is there any way, (short of luck) for nids to out cc a witch cult? I mean, I don't see why little prancing goth chicks with a few pointy metal bits should be able to face off against genetically engineered killing machines.

Bat we have ferocious stealers who have a +1 initiative and +1 strength, which means they will go first and wound on 3+.

Sure, Nids can do it. They just have to outnumber them as much as possible. I would say for every 10 wyches that are on the board you need about 30 guants or 20 genestealers. This can be hard to match when a Wych army is on the table, however, it can be done. Also, take any shooting stuff that you can when you play against DE. They really suck against shooting attacks of any kind, so load up on the venom cannons and such.
That's 13 stealers with scythes vs 22 wyches then. It's 52 attacks by the way, not 48.
Oh, wait, the scything talons are being negated by wych weapons...so it's down to 39 attacks on the charge, and still 26 without the charge bonus, but now against 22 wyches instead of 16.
Against 22 wyches with e.g. S+1/A+1/rerolls combat drugs:
39 attacks, 6.5 rending claw wounds, 10.83 normal wounds, 8.66 kills.
13.33 wyches strike back, 5.55 kills
7.45 stealers, 3.31 kills
10.02 wyches strike back, 4.175 kills
3.25 stealers strike , 1.45 kills
8.57 wyches strike back, 3.57 kills
The wyches win, even without the average 1/12 loss of models of the stealers per assault phase.
That should explain why even genestealer cults should FEAR Wych Cults. If you don't believe me, go ahead, charge straight at a Wych Cult army. Have fun getting shredded. And its 22 wyches vs. 13 ferocious stealers cuz their point values are the same, and we're calculating whose better for the same points.

And Biovores, max those puppies out. Nothing like auto glancing DE vehicles with poison mines. And since they are skimmers, you have a 33.3% chance to kill them on a glance as opposed to a 16.6% chance.

Tyranids *can* win against a wych cult, just not in close combat (unless you own tons of ripper swarm bases). It is essential to whittle them down with shooting, biovores are of great help. Also use spinegaunts instead of scythegaunts, and gargoyles instead of hormagaunts (fleshborers are useful against wyches and raiders, bioplasma strikes before wyches do and is not negated by wych weapons).
Use many small broods instead of large ones.
Being both a DE and tyranid player, i see no way to beat a well played wych cult with tyranids unless you tailor the army list for exactly this purpose, which then different to the cult cannot compete with other opponents then anymore.
In other words, the only way to beat an anti-Tyranid DE army (a wych cult) is with an anti-wych cult tyranid army, (an anti-anti tyranid tyranid army).
I suppose a wych cult is about as lethal as a wet rag when it faces off against an armoured fist company, or a suit heavy tau army, though. I'm sure archon asteroth, or some other DE fanboy will disagree, of course.
P.S. Is there any merit to a duel BS 'fex, with these new rules?

I don't disagree because i like my DE, but because the vast number of dark lances and blasters that are available to wych cults at a minimal cost as well as haywires make a wych cult a lethal opponent to an armoured company.I suppose a wych cult is about as lethal as a wet rag when it faces off against an armoured fist company, or a suit heavy tau army, though. I'm sure archon asteroth, or some other DE fanboy will disagree, of course.
They get two cheap blasters (think of them as sawed off bright lances) per squad, and a darklance (like a bright lance) on each of their dirt cheap transports for free.
It's a simple fact that there are only few armies in the game with as much anti tank punch as DE. As always, we pay for this with fragility.
