Hi fellow Eldar fans. Though I'd upload a few pics of something I was working on today. I cnnot paint to save my life but thought I'd stick them up to see what you guys think of the slight modifications I made to a normal Guardian Jetbike. I basically ransacked the spare parts from the Dire Avenger pack and stuck them on to the bike.
Although the main weapon of the Jetbike is a twin linked Shurican Catapult, I always thought it was a bit unfair that the poor guardians only had their pistols for CC, so I gave this one a DA Diresword. Now he can feel better as he gets laid into by all those CC nasties!
Next modifications ws replacing the normal pole at the back of the bike with the Standard from a DA Exarch. I haven't finsihed it yet, but one side will have the Craftworld Emblem on it, and the other the symbol for Guardians (The arrow like thing above the entry in the codex)
The last thing I modded was the emblem on the front. This is the Craftworld Emblem I cme up with (I called them Koridai). This was made of Green stuff nd it came out pretty good despite never trying to use the stuff before.
As anyone who has even heard of the Legend of Zelda will see, it's been plagurised something rotten, only my three points represent the Strength of Khaine, the Courage of Asuryan, and the Wisdom of Isha. I never claimed to be original so sue me heh.
Apologies for the terrible picture quality, my digital camera is not working so had to use my mobile phone.
Conversion looks sound and the sword defo adds a bit of dynamism to the model. Difficult to judge the quality of your paint job due to the quality of the picture.
I have a task of converting a Farseer and Warlock jetbike squad ahead of me, so I'm always on the look out for ideas on how I can make things look good. Your Dire Avenger Sword would be easier than trying to hack about Warlock Witchblades and the DA power weapon could easily double as a Singing Spear, so thanks for the inspiration.
Always glad to help out in some way.I took a better pic of it this afternoon and included it at the end of this message. Better image quality also brings out the obvious parts I missed before.
I had to strip the paint off my farseer and his spear thingy brole, so I replaced it with the Dire Avenger sword. Then, whilst stripping my banshees, I broke y exarch's executioner. so replaced that wth a DA Spear. The DA sprue is pretty dark useful I'd say!
Picture much better now. I don't know whether you are interested in improving your painting, but if you want to get a good effect for little effort I would recommend buying some inks. You can brush them over your paint work to create some some reasonable shading without being that great a painter.
I'm sure you can get a million more tips over in the painting forums.
you painting is rather good actually i like
If Slaanesh is the god of the Perverse, why does Nurgle have all the filth?
