Here are some rules for s special character that I made, they arenĀ“t playtested yet, any input or comments are welcomed.
Te'cher, Dark Elder Sniper
Wargear: Trophierack, Gruesome Talismans, CCweapon + Splinterpistol, Darkdoom
Darkdoom: The Darkdoom is a special Darklance/Splintercanon combi weapon, it can be used every turn as one weapon or the other.
Sneaky: he can see trough 8" of cover. When in cover his cover save increases by two.
Independant Character: Te`cher is an independent character and fallows all special rules like written in the BBB.
Fleet of foot: May fleed of foot instead of firering. Rule a d6 and run that many inch in the shooting phase. TeĀ“cher may reroll this dice once every round.
Background: TeĀ“cher was a darklance gunner in Archon Kelgaras army. During a feerce battle with the Imperial Guard his unit was attacked by imperial mortar fire. When the dust settled TeĀ“cher found that he was the sole surviver of his squad. Cold hate filled his heart, how dared this pesky humans to try to kill him? He scanned the scene and made out the imperials General, Otmar van Hesen, commanding his troups from top of a heavyly fortified bunker. TeĀ“cher lost no time, grapped his darklance and run for his life toward the hated enemies commander. Laserblasts, grenates and what not passed him and detonated just meters next to him, but to no awail. Soon he reached some broken barrals, got his Darklance into position, aimed, and with a well placed shot desintegrated the Imperial commander. With their Generals atoms varporisating the IGs moral broke and they turned tail, only to be run down by the faster Dark Eldar troups. After the battle, Archon Kelgara honored TeĀ“cher for his outstanding performance on the battlefield with the construction of the DarkDoom and with a permanent contract as her personal sniper.
Within the following month TeĀ“cher has carved himself a name within the enemys ranks and strikes fear into their hearts ... no one knows if its not himself who will be his next target ...
Something about the creation of TeĀ“cher, his story isnĀ“t so much made up, but really happened ^^ His squad was totally whiped out by mortar fire in one round, two consecutive rounds he made his "on my own"-test and fleed-of-footet 5 and 6 inch. After that he killed the imperial commander with one well placed shot and turning the tide of battle. The game endet one round later, but in this round he still made his "on my own" tst and run again 10" His performace was so great, cool and characterfull that I gor permission of my mate to make him a special character.
lose all of the cc wepons and anything cc oriented you need to have this guy perform one task and one task onlyt it sounds like this guy should be a shooter. your oppnents might be more able to let you use this guy if you gust shorten the range on the darklance/splintercannon thingy.
also forget the re-roll dice for fleet of foot and maybe even take that out because a guy with two heavy weapons can't run really fast.
After all of that is taken out you can drop the points to around 80 or so and let that happen.
In the fluff this guy has great leadership but i think 9 is pushing it as that is like what an archon has and he is the head of everything so make the Ld 8 and say he can re-roll any failed Ld
it will be tough to get this guy to be used by your opponents though so good luck
How about a twin-linked DL that can shoot 48" combined with a dissie mechanism that can make it shoot a dissie template, but only at 36"???
"And whoever wants to be a creator in good and evil, must first be an annihilator and break values. Thus the highest evil belongs to the greatest goodness: but this is--being creative."
~ Friedrich Nietzsche ~
How about a 48" DL, drop the CC wpns, and make him like, 75-90 pts.
That's tough... but that's exactly why I invented the USSR!
World Eaters - 2000pts
Dark Eldar - 2000pts
Imp. Guard - 2000pts, 270 men
