Hey guys Im looking for a really mean/cheese 750 Tyranid list. Its for a local club tournie and i want it to have a laugh about it and stuff like that. The main reason is we are allowed to use White dwarf lists and ones we can find else where. The one thing is i only have one tyrant (which is not a flyrant) so does anyone have any suggestions?
Just moved this thread to the Nid forums, hopefully youll find more helpful and specific advice here
The real way to do this is to create your own list then let others critique it
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Ok thanks man.
I will give you a few suggestions though. The cheesiest thing we can do is simply MC it up. At 750 we can easily have 5 MC's running around. Although in your case you might have to sub in like a Broodlord for the other Tyrant in the HQ slot. In 4th I had a lot of fun running 3 or 4 MC's in a 500 point match using Ripper Swarms to fill out my troops. If you know beforehand you will be playing annihilation you can do something similar. Otherwise be sure you have some genestealers to cap objectives.
Or you could just force a few nidzillas down their throats and contest all the objectives/wipe them out.
Or you can be mean with nid warriors. Take 2x 10 spinegaunts for troops and then take 5 units of 5 warriors with scy-tals and death spitters. Sure you can't really take out tanks, but how many armies want 25 s5 blasts firing at them each turn?
Of course massed MCs is still meaner, but massed warriors shouldn't be underestimated. They're deadlier than they get credit for, and you can just remove 10 warriors for a sniperfex and more gaunts.
40K armies: Tyranids (2001), Space Wolves (2008), Sisters of Battle (2011)
Current Rep: 1337
Some mean things: Abuse' gauntwrapping if you play 5h edition.
Massed MC in 4th edition, because a smart player in 5th edition will just kill your small amount of troops, and win the match (unless its the standard "just go kill everything" kind of game )
If you have if, you can use the Brood Nest, for a nasty surprise (it's in one of the Imperial armour books).
Mass genestealer seems to work in 4th edition sometimes, ripping your opponets to shreds. I don't know if this works out in 5th edition though.
