I just played a game using some borrowed stormboys led by zagstruk and found them quite effective and after reading through his rule and seeing him in action i think in my next game against nids im going to use him as a carnifex killer. My oppenent fields at least 3-4 fexes at a time what do you think?
Lets go massacre something
I am a sexy shoeless god of war!
PK's in general get it done when it comes to carnifex's. They only have WS 3. And their high toughness is offset by the high Str of the PK toting nob. I've never used the Vulcha squad myself, but I'm sure they'll be an effective (albiet) expensive choice. Their deep striking will allow you to kill at least on carnifex before it gets to the main body.
Also keep in mind that large units are the way to go against 'nids. Speed Freaks are fine vs Marines and other shooty forces but you definetly need the staying power of 30 boy squads when dealing with the bigger bugs.
Good luck against the bugs and my the Waaagh! be with you
Massed Loota fire works, but if the 'nid player gives them an improved armor save its not as effective. The PK is the only fail proof method. SAG (when you roll high for Str) and boom cannon fire are better at busting carnifex's. But really your better off shoving a PK were the warp don't shine
Loota fire is wasted on Carnifexes. 5+ to hit, 3+ to wound (maybe even 4+) and a 3+ or 2+ save to get past. Add in all the wounds and the odds are abysmally low.
Lootas mow down medium to light infantry, not MCs, so use them to tear up Genestealers and Warriors instead.
PKs handle the rest.

Well assuming his opponent is playing Nidzilla(3-4 fexes...) there isn't going to be much besides Carnis, he might as well try tearing one down with a couple rounds of fire. There will be some ripper swarms maybe a stealer or Gaunt horde(varies from nid to nid) but there isn't going to be much else.
Lootas aren't bad against Carnifexes and Hive Tyrants, but they're a hell of a lot better against everything else in the Tyranid army. You're better off shooting at...virtually anything, really. Now, against monstrous creatures in chaos armies, you might as well use the lootas, since the lootas aren't really much better against normal marines. It all depends on what you're facing.
The best thing to use against monstrous creatures are powerklaws and kustom mega blastas. The best specific units to use are groups of 30 boyz with powerklaws, and killa kans with kmbs. The killa kans can also do some damage to the Carnifex in close combat, but they're vulnerable, so it's up to you.
If I were making the list, I'd try and get as many powerklaws into the army as possible. The best way to do that is with several units of boyz and perhaps a unit of 6-8 nobz with 2-3 powerklaws, painboy, cybork, wauugh banner, and bosspole, either in a transport or on bikes (not meganobz though, they'll get eaten).

Just gonna throw this out there. Tankbustas. AP3 will punch through carnifex's no problem. And since there's no vehicles Glory Hogs isn't a problem. (fluff wise its justifiable that the tankbustas would shoot at the big bugs anyway.)
But yeah, PKs destroy the big bugs. Lootas have an AP4 and fex's have a 3+ save. Plus he'll probably have a winged hive tyrant. And if be bought warp field that's a 2+ save.
If your going to bring lootas, use them on the genestealers. PK the big bugs. You won't be dissapointed.
