Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm going to a friends house for a few games of 40k tonight. My only problem is i can't find my codex... i just bought the lootas/burnas models and i need to know how many points a loota is with a Deffgun. If anyone could help it would be AWESOME!!!!! thanks
you CAN say the point cost in a indirect way,
a loota with a deffgun costs as much as a space marine in the older codex,
(ie, the one before the 2008 one)
this schouldn't ofend any rules, and i hope it helps
Hrmm.. it seems to me that going out of your way to make a point comparison is getting dangerously close to violating the spirit of the rule.
The real point here should be that Librarium Online has strict standards because if they allow their members to post copy written information, they could get shut down. If you don't own a codex, I strongly suggest that you pick one up. I know that another box of boyz is a lot more tempting than a book, but playing an army without the codex (and the main rule book!) is like BBQing with your bare hands, yeah you can do it, but it's sloppy, slow, and a little painful. Cheat Sheets are helpful, but they are not a good replacement for the real thing.
If you do own the codex and you really just lost it, might I suggest looking around a little more, and keeping it near your models in the future?
Anyways, I am not mod, and certainly don't care one way or another if you get in trouble. But I am sure that in some way, your 'indirect' way does infact seem to break LO rules being that this is a post fishing for points of individual models, which, if people make a habbit of giving 'indirect' points cost in the matter of directly saying it is like one model on an individual scale, eventually if someone owns an SM codex, all they will have to do is come to LO to find out what units cost what by looking it up and compairing it to whatnot and so forth in the SM codex.
In summary, say what you please, but lets stick to LO rules so that the few don't rune it for the many! Thanks!
PS. i am not angry, lol and i am not trying to sound like a jerk, just trying to be a little helpful!
and even if he doesn't has the codex by now, and he want's to buy then GW has what they want and the guy is helped.
and someone of his budy's will know the point cost of a single 'old' marine, Every Nob know's that!
i'm sorry when i offended some rules, i felt like not doing it and i just wanted to help the guy who started this question.
i appologize, but say, how far can he possibly get with the knowledge of how much a single unupgraded loota costs?
