Okay, keep in mind that i am new to War-hammer and haven't even played yet , but i was wondering...New C'tan...it's something I've been toying around with, but would it be possible in the War-hammer universe? I've done research in the subject and so far haven't been able to find anything against it, all it says is that the Nightbringer and the Decever are the only C'tan to come out ot stasis yet, so I was wondering if it is, in fact possible to have a C'tan that may have awakened a bit later down the road. But like I said, I'm new to War-hammer. Input anyone?
There are four altogether. Only two are "awakened," and thus represented in the codex: The Nightbringer and the Deceiver. There is also the Void Dragon which, it is suggested subtly in the codex and widely believed by the 40k community, is on Mars, possibly held prisoner by the Adeptus Mechanicus. Debate rages over whether the "machine spirit" is actually the Void Dragon.
The other is The Outsider. In the very back of the Necron codex you'll see a reference to a large spherical object that the Tyranid hive fleets have avoided. It is speculated and widely believed by the 40k community that this is a Dyson Sphere -- a massive metal sphere large enough to hold a planet, and that the Outsider is inside that ball. Whether he put himself there or is imprisoned, no one can say.
For more details, run a search in the fluff forum. You'll find tons to read.
Sorry again, it was just such a huge difference in scale that I just had to say something.
Okay, do we know what they look like? (haven't looked at the thread you mentioned yet.)
I always imagined the void dragon to look like a big ole techpriest or a titan. If it is being held/worshipped by the mechanicus, then it has to have SOME influence on the stuff they make.
Outsider, no clue.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
It's been a while since I read up on Dyson Sphere theories, in case you haven't noticed. Thanks for clearing it up.
Far more likely is the emergence of the Outsider, which I personally wouldn't count out in a new release of the codex and assorted Apocalypse data sheets, scheduled for around this time next year.
But that's just me. You'll get an earful of this in the fluff sub-forum.
personally, i hope the outsider doesn't turn up in the new codex, as it would invalidate my army fluff! Then again, GW may plagiarize it!
The dragon on the other hand... bring it on!
Nobody knows what they look like, but i see the void dragon as a serpent dragon, and the Outsider as argus-oid (blobby with tentacles)
