    Broadsides: They is shootiest

So, my normal method for fielding Broadsides is to use them as railgun turrets - that is, I don't move them. I'm thinking of using them as mobile fire support with the plasma rifle upgrade. Now, here's my question:

The codex entry says that they

must take one battlesuit support system
but I want to give them multi-trackers and ASSes. Is there an unsaid "at least" between "must take" and "one?"

Seems stupid of me to ask this, but the way the battlesuit armory page made me wonder.

Your allowed only one support system. Only a Team Leader/Shas'vre is allowed more than one. This is covered in the Codex if you read the relevant section.

    Hope this helps

Broadsides are not good at providing mobile fire support, mainly because they are not what you would class as particularly mobile. I have used them with A.S.S and believe me D6 is not condusive to movement (not great when you roll a 1 or 2). If you use XV88's just give them A'S'S (because it is useful for gaining or making slight corrections to LOS) place them in cover and use them as intended as anti armour. Forget expensive Plasma that will very rarely be used and stick to whats useful.

"It's not the fact that I can fire up to 3 Twin-linked S10 AP1 weapon at 72" range with one squad, it's doing it after moving that round."
ASS is a good thing for a Mont'Ka list. And Mont'Ka is the name of the game most played. So go for it.

I love the ASS. I always hated back then having to decide to waste a turn of shooting to move or to stand still and wait for them to move into my firing lane.

It's not when 'anyone' walks up to your broadsides, it's when 30 or more "Someone"s do it at the same time

I personally have the plasma rifles on my broadside because when someone d/strikes assault marines or has a pile of terminators pop out of a land raider I like being able to take down more then just one model.
