Welcome to Librarium Online!
This probably belongs on the modelling forum, but what the hell? Us Orks need to stick together
I'm finally building a unit of nob bikers and am wondering how you all made your painboss biker. I'm kind of stuck at this point. Do you guys proxy him? Do you just add a painboss head to a regular boy body? How about modeling the 'urty syringe? (I'm not good enough to hack off the one from the metal model- yet...) To put it short I'm wondering what an acceptable conversion looks like.
What have some of you veteren warbosses done when it comes to this valuable, and awesome model? Everything I've read on the unit says you absolutly must have him in the unit, hence why I need to model him. Any help or at least a starting point would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Gork and Mork bless.
I started by using the medical mask looking head from the Burna Boyz sprue and incorporating white into the paint scheme of the painboy's bike (which I didn't use on the rest of the squad). Modeling/converting a syringe or medical lab coat would be a nice touch, but I haven't yet gone that far myself (maybe after I get the rest of the army painted =P).
Two's to kill. Ahh, sweet sweet music.
For the urty suringe I used the grot on the banner pole that came with the bikes. He has an axe or something in his hand. I just put a smaller diameter "needle" on one end and cut two thin pieces of plastic tubing for the other end to look like finger holes. He looks like he is ready to stab someone with it. For the top of the banner pole I made a crossed bone and saw for my "sawbones". As for the bike, I converted a bike to have a box like a pickup truck. It has body parts and blood so you can tell it is a "waugh-mbulance". For the doc, I too used the surgical mask burna head but added a head band with a mirror thing that docs wear. For the body, I made a coat out of green stuff.
Hope that helps...
I took the regular Painboy model, and a warbiker. I took the amrs and head from the paint (may require some doctoring yourself) and the torso and legs from the bike. i took the little grot from the nob biker sprue and stuck him on there as a grot orderly. I wish i had pictures, I'll see if i can get some. It came out nice though.
I used a jewelry saw to cut away the "skirt" part of the pewter painboy and sat that model on a weaponless wartrakk body. I'm planning on modelling the back end of the wartrakk into some sort of "orkbulance" to really ham it up. Its my largest project at this time.
Thank you all for your responses. @ Bebe, your pictures were awesome. Great ideas and responses guys. I think I have a starting off point now. Maybe I'll post pictures when I'm done. Again, thanks a lot.
