    double drone controller?

I was wondering if this is a legal suit loadout:
team leader with twin linked flamers, drone controller, and hardwired drone controller, and 4 marker drones. You get 4 markerlights that can jsj around to keep out of reach of trouble at a cheaper cost than a stealth marker team.
I know the codex says no suit can have two of the same item, so is calling one hardwired enough to make it a different item? I say if they were the same item, any suit could equip either controller, but only certain ranks can thus making it a different item.
I've never tried this out on the table, it was just an idea that popped into my head a few minutes ago. What does everyone else think about this?

Why did the chicken cross the road?
    For the greater good.

It is somewhat vague, but I belive that the Drone Controller and the Hard-Wired Drone Controller are close enough to be considered the same thing, so I don't believe that that loadout is legal.

Nope, sorry. Taking hard-wired or non-hard-wired versions of the same wargear can't be done. They are the same item of wargear, only operated differently by the Battlesuit pilot.

As an aside - why would you want it to have TL-Flamers? Cost?

I don't know if you had something else in mind, but I don't think ML drones can benefit from the JSJ technique. The MLs still count as a HW and need to remain stationary to use and you can't move after firing them.

No, they do benefit from the Relentless rule. It's new from 5th ed.

Drones take on the unit type of their controller, so MDs with XV8s can JSJ. As they are using Tau jetpacks, they are entitled to the Relentless rule as well.

I see where you guys are coming from on the relentless rule, but in Codex: Tau it says:

"The battlesuits are designed to compensate for the recoil of light weapons fire, so they do not count as moving when they fire Rapid Fire weapons. This ability does not extend to heavy weapons, however, and the user must be stationary to fire."

I could be wrong though, CSM are my main army and my Tau are fairly new.

Except now in the 5e Rulebook, page 52, the second bullet tells us that all models equipped with jet packs have the Relentless special rule.

That would be all models with a jet pack, including Tau Crisis and Stealth Suits.
