Hi, i splited aobr with my friend and have orks half.. I started to paint it and enjoy it, but i really need some help with army. I cant spend too much money now so im looking for effective relatively low cash cost army with AOBR as a start pack.
I was thinking about it and have some questions
what about hard boyz ? is it just mob of common boyz in avy armor but count as elites ?
Im gonna buy green stuff for extra armor plates, because i didnt find where tu buy some hard boyz...
so next question is about NOBs, there are 5nobs in aobr, I know what do they exactky have.. all heavy armor ? i dont know how can it be recognized ? iron shoulders indicates it ? and what about weapon ? my friend told me if weapon has some "wires" its a power weapon [big choppa in this case] but these "wires" have only 2out of5 nobs...rest have normal chopas ?
so for army, I really like the idea of big mek with SAG, and like the model.. but i dont know if he is worth... i read some topics about him and some ppl say he is great but rest that he sucks....
so i wanna something like this [but im really not sure if its good or not] i didnt play game at all...
and what about granades? worth points ?
so warboss with pk,cyber body, boss pole, mabey add squig for one more attack.. but i dont have a model and no idea where to get it...
Big mek with sag, and i dont know what else.. mabey some rebel grot mobs [pack of 4] if i roll 3,3 or like meatshield for some shooting on him or mabez grot canons ?
20 chop boyz with nob, pk boss pole, 2big shootas
20 chop boyz in heavy armor, with warboss [can i have nob with pk too ?] 2big shootas (or rokit ?
5-6 [depends on it i can attached warboss to chop boyz nobs all with big choppaz, one boss pole and one pk and all heavy armor
so i have to buy only 1big mek and 2boyz boxes which give me 2nobs with pk,... i will make last pk for nobs squad from green stuff..
will it be effective ?

First off, you may want to spend some more time proof-reading your posts. It makes things lot easier for people to read and subsequently help you out.'Ard Boyz are just a normal Boyz mob with 'eavy armor, so they're still Troops. I wouldn't recommend it as the upgrade is expensive and you're better off with more boyz. That said, they can be useful in a Trukk mob to keep your few boyz alive longer.what about hard boyz ? is it just mob of common boyz in avy armor but count as elites ?

You've got about 900 currently, if you want to bring it to 1000 I'd pick up 2 Trukks (or try to scratch build them) and run something like this:
Boss w/ powerklaw, bosspole, 'eavy armor, attack squig, cybork body
Big Mek w/ shokk attack gun, cybork body
30 Sluggas, 3w/ big shootas, Nob w/ powerklaw, bosspole
12 'Ard Boyz, Nob w/ powerklaw, bosspole, Trukk w/ red paint, ram
5 Nobs w/ 'eavy armor, 1w/ powerklaw, Trukk w/ red paint, ram
3 units of 1 Deff Kopta

about NOBs i wasnt clear, i was asking what the aobrs minies really have? 2bigchoppas 3 choppa? but choppa suxx against big choppa no str bonus,ale armor penetration...
and all 'eavy armor ? im dont know how to recognize these things for sure...
big mac, does he have cyber body ? i think not and need some mode with green stuff, but god knows how to make this mode ?
and im thinking about ammo runts for scatter rolls, but same problem,dont know where to get model and eaven how is it looks like...
about grots im not sure myself...i ment some grot artillery or something like this, can fire for distance, and work for 3,3 roll :] but i dont know advice needed here... :]
'Ard Boyzi still dont know if it is wothy, but in truck it seem really good because of good movement options and the trukk max is 12.. but12 'Ard Boyz, Nob w/ powerklaw, bosspolecosts 160 pts and nobs which you destribed 155 pts, with big choppas175.. i need to use some math hammer and figure out what is best
slugga boyzwill it be better 2x15 both with own nob /w pw ?
what to buy: im thinking about as I said 2x box of boyz but i dont exactly know what does it contain ? 9boyz and 1nob ar 10 boyz and 1nob, and what exactly are the weapon and exuip option and parts for some modding...
because i can probably buy another aobr, but i dont know what is better,,,

omg my mistake, big choppas are two handed weapons :/ so
about NOBs how good the big choppa is ? it has 2 str more but one attack less but nice armor penetration... so ? :[
For the Nobs it can really go either way. I just play them as all having Choppas, and if you want Big Choppas just make them recognizable (bigger axe-head, cables, whatever). Use whatever upgrades you like, even change them in between games, just make sure everything is distinguishable to your opponent.
Big Macs are delicious. Big Meks have plenty of robotty gubbinz that you can safely call them cyborks. I believe ammo runts only affect to hit rolls, so re-rolling scatter doesn't apply. I'll have to check the book and FAQ for a definite answer though.
You don't need any grots for the 3,3 roll. Grot artillery would be Big Gunz: Kannons, Lobbas, or Zzap Guns. If you want cheap firepower, Big Gunz are quite good for the points.
'Ard Boyz work best in Trukks I'd say, as the extra cost isn't huge and they actually get some utility from it. It's hardly mandatory though.
Slugga boys work best in bigger mobs. 15 is actually easy to gun down or at least run off the board.
A Boyz box has enough parts to make 10 boyz and 1 Nob. It's got bits for shootas, sluggas, 1 rokkit launcha, 1 big shoota, 1 powerklaw, 1 big choppa, and a lot of other random bits you can use for anything (armor plates = 'ard boyz, stikkbomz, tankbusta bomms, twin-linked shootas).
You've got a solid core that you can do pretty much anything with. Another AoBR's worth and a 2 boxes of boyz would be great for an infantry horde army. Deff Koptas outflank and hit vehicles while 60 boyz and their Nob buddies rush the enemy (kustom force field Mek would work very well here). You can go shooty and pick up shoota boyz, lootas, and big guns to put out loadsa dakka. It really depends on what sort of army you want.

1.Can painboy has heavy armor ? or only cyber body i read some posts about itand not sure..
2. 1nob with combi gun with flamethrower is it worth ? this nob loose one attack because he doesnt have slugga but i saw some game with flamethrower and it was good, bud i dont know about utilization

3. how much BIG choppas will be good for my setup ? and when nob has big choppa he cant shoot at all ?
4.whot about warboss attached him to nobs and load him on truck or boyz ?
5. big mek, i thought he is gonna be some kind of alone sniper, because of his really long range and posibility of boom
6. can i make nob with pole, waaagh banner and big choppa ? or pole and waagh banner have to carry two different nobs ?
Looks like a good start, but you will definitely need more Boyz later.
1) A Painboy cannot have 'eavy armor ASFAIK, but he is required if you want your Nobs to have cybork bodies.
2) Kombi-skorchas are nice and cheap, but I'd give it to the PK Nob as he won't get an extra attack anyway.
3) Big Choppas are cheap and useful, take as many as you think you need. You still get +1A for them too, so go nuts.
4) I'd stick the boss with the Nobs for some proppa 'ead bashing.
5) SAG stands alone, just sit him in cover and you'll be fine.
6) Yep, he can have all 3 with no loss of attacks.
i will probably buy another AOBR later, for new boyz and deff koptaz which i think i can mod to warbikes...
so now for build
3) how can i get 1a i checked codex and its 2h weapon so no 1free attack from slugga in second hand... if its right there is no need to use normal choppa,,
2) and 6) so the most effective will be one nob with px, bosspole, waagh banner and kombi scorcha ? because i can relocate wounds the last nobs from squad gonna be this overequiped nob and painboy... true ?
I'll have to have a second look regarding Big Choppas but I am fairly certain that they do not prevent you getting the extra attack. The biggest downside to big choppas is that they aren't powerklaws, otherwise they rule.
I would put the kombi-skorcha on the PK Nob but split everything else up. That was you won't lose everything to an unlucky roll and you can avoid losing Nobs as you'll have to allocate a wound to every seperate group of nobs before removing whole models.
I concur it reminds me of when people used to use TXT SPK on their mobilesyou may want to spend some more time proof-reading your posts.
Good luck building your Waaagh! OP. You've got some really good advice in this thread. the only suggestion Id make is don't waste points on armour, buy more boyz instead.
