I was thinking about starting an Iyanden army, using a couple of squads of WraithGuard and a couple WraithLords.... Does anybody have any suggestions? Like, what should i give my Farseer? What do all of you Eldar experts recommend? :huh: I've only challenged you guys, never actually played as is... :ph34r:
Well, an Iyanden army tends to be very small and have very few models. Unless you buy/convert a Wave Serpent, your Wraithguard will have to walk. You'll also need Spiritseers or Warlocks to prevent your Wraithguard from going "Wraithsight". Also, try to get some long range support to cover your Wraithguards' and Wraithlords' advance. Dark Reapers would be useful in this role, especially if the Exarch takes the Eldar ML and Fast Shot skill.
Your Farseer should have Ghosthelm, Spirit Stones, Runes of Witnessing, Guide and Fortune. You can put him in one of your Wraithguard sqauds, saving you the cost of an additional Warlock. Fortune allows you to reroll saves [any save!] and Guide rerolls your shots. This way, you can Fortune the Wraithguard and Guide the Wraithlord's shots.
In terms of transport, only a Wave Serpent can carry Wraithguard and even then you only have room for 5 Wraithguard and a Warlock or Spiritseer.

- Nuadhu 'Fireheart'</span>

- Warlord Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka</span>
warlock powers are important as well. if u ahve say 2 squads in wave serpents, give yur warlock enhance. so all yur wraithguard are now s 5 t 5 ws 5 and i 5. they are like wulfen with wraithcannons, except they only get 1 attack so thats why u need to weaken the enemy with long range firepower. dark reapers are AWESOME for this. for anti tank. throw in some vypers with BL.
iyanden is fun to play with but hard to win with.
<insert witty remark here>
Thanx for the tips guyz.... I'll probably have to wait a few weeks/months seeing that a five man squad of Wraithguard is $50... I'll need some funds to come in first! :rolleyes: Thankz again guys! :ph34r:
Hmm, I would be carefull Iyanden are a very expensive army to collect (cash wise) You are gonna needa couple fo squads of wraithguard and couple of wraithlords (as you mentioned) plus warlocks/farseers/spirit seers, plus as many wave serpents as your have squads of wraithguard, plus other squads
I dont wish to put you off, but before I invested that kind of cash I would want to try it out, unless you got a friend with an army you can borrow, or people who dont miond you proxying your entire army, I woudl be tempted to go realy basic codex edar wit ha a sqaud of Wraithguard and a Wraithlord and have a few battles lioke that to get a flavour and make sure you are happy with them
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Just as a note, you can't put Wraithguard in a Wave Serpent as was suggested earlier <_<
You can put wraithguard in a wave serpent. I just suggest reading the codex again. They cant go in a "falcon" which is a different unit
Oooopsies :huh: yeah I was looking at the falcon
