So, under fourth edition everyon will be able to count their full attacks w/i 2". So now, basically we are paying 3 pts per gaunt to increase their charge range from 6" to 12". Is it worth it now? Or will you be bringing out more basic scythegaunts. Im sure that this will be fixed in our new codex, but until then, what do you think?
like u said, it wont be fixed until the new codex, so leaping might give us more benefits possibly giving us cc up to 4 inches or something like that. We just wont know till the new codex, or possibly the new rulebook, if they have all the armies in the back like 3rd edition. Only time will tell. Still, it seems wrong to have scythegaunts that dont leap.
Even though EVERYONE can now get their full attacks within 2" [inculding any special rules like Powerfists] we still have an advantage with the 12" charge. First of all, we will still get to charge FIRST which brings me to my second point; we get the charge bonus, they don't. Anyway, the 'Nids should worry more about the new rapid-fire rules.

still and advatge in terms of range for charging
i dunno if they will change the leaping rules... theres alot of units that the new rules have made them look ordinary for example thousands sons, now there just uber expensive marines that are slow moving with 2 wounds (lasscanon and krak missile targets) so i think if they give hormies something extra with the leaping skill or make them cheaper in pts (hehehe) then there gunna have to revise all the other armies that have units that have been negativly affected.
as people have said Leaping still gives a 12 inch charge so thats still pretty nifty.
and just think of all those stealers that are gunna get to use rending claws with all there attacks when there within 2 inches of CC yummy
my advice...just wait till the new codex
Army of the heavens, my army waits in hell
To battle on the earth, for all the souls who fell
indeed your right, if you ever played cityfight you know what that could do to an opponent.
Better get those genestealers ready
I say that a Leaping Gaunt is still way better than a ScytheGaunt... 12" charge can really damage a lot, especially because they can be within 2" with three attacks... But now Genestealers will be more worth the points...
indeed they are, but our opponents now have even more reason to shoot them
I can understand the point of this voting, why u use ST-Gaunts when u can use Leaping/ST-Gaunts.So simple. All that in the 3rd Edition, now for the 4rd edition plz w8, the forum is full of "masters" who seems to know everything about the new 4rd editions.Plz w8 a few weeks(or days), dont open your mouth without actually know anything.
MEAT IS MURDER
woah, chill pill dude. Its almost certain that the leaping rule will be changed somewhat in the new 'nid codex, and Its probable that other armies that have been affected will be boosted/lowered in their new respective codices. Its only logical.
