Welcome to Librarium Online!
hey all, i have looked into elders and realy like the style and i hugely consider starting a army of them. first off i would like to say that i dont have the army book but will get it tomorrow or the day after there, so i dont realy know much abaut the lore and the craftworlds and stuff but what i have read sounds realy nice,
also for me it is much more abaut the fluff and modelling than the game,
so for me its the figures and fluff that makes my list not the other way around
i would like to have a army that are some what competetive but it aint what its going to be build for, as i say - its not abaut winning or loosing but winning is always more fun
before i have played orks and they are damn fun to convert but when it comes to painting its all pretty much the same, so i would like to make a army pretty much only of aspect warriors as i think they are realy cool thought i dont know much abaut them i like most of the figures and the paint schemes and would like to include a unit of each in my army, and again it might not be very competetive but will look damn cool on the battlefield, i dont realy like the spiders thought.. as i think they got extremly static poses but will include some anyway so onto the questions and off the wall of text..
can a full aspect warrior army be alittle competetive?
can you win a game as eldars without using any farseers/seers? physic powers realy just isnt me.
does aspect warriors fight for all craftworld or such or does each craftworld have their own aspect warriors?
i know some of these questions will be answered by the codex but i would like to hear some from you guys too
ps, what should i start out with? a Autarch and 2 units of dire avengers?
all comments appriciated good aswell as bad
If you don't like psykers thats fine eldar can win without them but the farseers powers really do help some units. The two dire avenger squads and a autarch is a good start as dire avengers are the only aspect that is a troop choice.
I think an all aspect army could very fairly competitive, all of them are very good at some part of combat. You could have 3 very good cc units with banshees scorpions and shining spears 3 good shooting units with the 2 avengers and a unit of dark reapers. a very good anti tank in the fire dragons, a good all around speed unit in the spiders. And the grenade packing hawks for horde thinning and some tank hunting.
Having said that some wave serpents to get them to the targets might not be a bad investment as all eldar tend to be a bit fragile.
All craftworlds have aspect warriors of all types some have more than others. Beil Tan is known for its fighting style that is centered on aspect warriors in wave serpents and Altioc (sp) also has a fairly high number of aspect warriors the other three big craftworlds focus on other units in fighting but still field all aspects with Ulthwe having the fewest.
alright thanks alot for that!
i will look into gettting some transport for the difrent units when i get the codex, could be cool to paint them in the colors of the aspect warriors they transport i reccon
also if you are mad into aspects you might pick up the odd Phoenix lord or two. be warned, some of them are awful models.
Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat
yeah i thought abaut that but i dont realy wana do it as then the army would focus more on some aspects than others, so think i will go with a avatar
