Welcome to Librarium Online!
Has and one else noticed an obvious lack of tyrinid related novels. I mean sure their are thinks like star ship trooper that are kinda like tyrinids but i'm curious if any of you out there know of any true tyrinid novels by the black library?
I saw one that had some on the cover (A commisar Cain book).
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
I have read a couple, and there is one in particular which I kinda enjoy. It is a story associated with the Tau, but is about The Coming Of Kraken, which is why it is aptly named:
Tau Online - The Coming of Kraken
If I happen to come any across which are worthy of reading, I will be sure to contact you.
Light a fire for a man, and he will be warm for a night. Light a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
I think the lack of Tyranid books stems from the fact that their purity means they don't have the drama that other bad guys have.
Dark Eldar can ponce about and torture you. Chaos Sorcerers can say esoteric thing before destroying someone.
Tyranids are just relentless, and while that's cool in it's own way, I can imagine it's very hard to make it engaging without making it cliched and copying Aliens or Starship Troopers.
I guess you could have a story about two opposing factions during a Tyranid invasion, but that relegates them to 'pest' as the main parties fight...
Not quite a 'pure' Nid novel but the second book in the Ultramarine omnibus features a city in the early stages of a Nid invasion which is pretty cool. Also features a space battle against the Hive Fleet and an assault on the Hive Queen. As close as you would get id say.
The Last Chancers short story Deliverance is worth a read as well.

Currently play: 4000+ of Black Legion
I am planning to write one, when I get the proper insperation and time
The hard thing about nids is that they have no feelings, so when someone writes a story about Nids they have to base it around something that is NOT Tyranids, because Tyranids only think eat, eat, eat. Mainly stories are based around Investigations, or Battles such as Battle For Macragge.

This is whya tyranid protagonist is full of fail (or win, depending on perspective.
The Story of being 932,263,031:
"Hungry....hungry hungry hungry.........mmmmm....crunchy."
The Hormagaunt chewed through the armor and bone of a space marine, caught by it and it's companions. One of the other Gaunts ducked its head in for a bite of the exposed flesh, and caught one of the delicious internal organs. The Hormagaunt snapped it's own maw back into the crevice in the armor, tearing out intestines in the hunger of the hive. Suddenly, the creature looked up.
"Move." It heard, echoing through it's mind, and into it's brood. As one, they stood up from their kills, and sprinted onward, towards the scent of more prey.
"Speed is life! You go slow, you die!"

I believe either the first or second horus heresy book, i forget which one, has a great amount of tyranids murdering some dumb confused space marines. they even name the planet they live on "murder." you should check it out its good.
