I've almost completed my mech eldar list and after a practice game against orks, i realized i didn't have compitent objective holders. my only troops are 2 avenger squads in serpents. what would be a good way to hold objectives in my deployment zone since my avengers are meant to assault the opponent (along with my outflanking scorpions, fire dragons in falcon, and banshees in a serpent w/ farseer).
should i take jetbikes, guardians, more avengers, rangers?
Probably rangers, nice long range, great cover saves and cheap in points
For that situation I'd go rangers as well. Give them the pathfinder upgrade and sit em back in heavy cover. They should serve your needs well.

2x 3 guardian jetbikes with a shuricannon can be useful for grabbing objectives late game, just use your assault move to get back behind cover out of los, as long as you have supporting units you can leave them behind cover within 24" of an objective and turbo boost to it on your last turn. Even if your opponent goes last, you still get a 3++ save and t4 so they have decent resilience.
