Welcome to Librarium Online!
So the latest podcast from GW is an interview with Jes Goodwin, who is one of Games Workshop's leading miniature designers. Mostly it's a discussion of how he helped to shape the eldar and space marine lines early in GWs history.
Of note for Dark Eldar however is at the end he is asked what he is working on right now and he says he is halfway through the plastic range for Dark Eldar. Normally plastics are started 18 months out from a release, which would suggest another 9 months before the DE release roughly, but he makes sure to emphasis he really doesn't know when they will be out and goes on to give a 1 to 2 year guessed time frame.
You can listen to the podcast yourself at Games Workshop
Good to hear him mention that there seems to be alot of plastics headed towards the Dark Eldar, but the wait continues to drag ever onwards.
Hey, let's hope that they don't scrap them and start all over again...
If they are half way through them, it shouldn't be too long, but it goes to show the thought that is being put into the army. Makes you wonder what they have kept and ditched.
Light a fire for a man, and he will be warm for a night. Light a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
Thanks for the link. It's cool to hear Jes himself talking about the project, and that makes the wait a lot less difficult for me, at least. Hopefully they will indeed find more opportunities to talk about the work he's doing. In fact, wouldn't it be a great idea if we were to get this sort of thing on a regular basis from GW?
This is great news! I'll have to listen to this in my lunch break, thanks for the find!
Edit: listened to it. interesting stuff.
we really are a long time out!
