Welcome to Librarium Online!
Tau commanders for me the battle is lost to spread the greater good around, from now on i ll fight for the death of primarch sanguinius.
What i wonna say is that history is written yesterday to defeat my friend chaos army with my new blood angels list , something that my tau never did over 20 games.
I have post some questions here on this forum how you can handle a deepstriking army with tau etc and u guys helped me all the time but it never worked.
Kroot cant handle the marines in cc or outshoot them, firewariors are crap troops without pathfinders. U need 4 + and then 3 + and with marines i only need 3 + 3+ and they can stand their man in cc. Battlesuits are nice and hammerheads to but for tau the game only exist out one fase ( shooting fase ) and if u roll badly u cant make it good with a deadly assault. Last time 6 battlesuits fire with fusions and plasma on 1 grey knight lord with termie armour and they didnt get it down because of the BS of 3 and this what they call the elites of the elites from a shooting army.
Yesterday i fought with 40 bloodangels against 70 models from chaos and i whiped them out only his deamon price was still allive at the end. It was a nice and bloody game and we maked fun because from now on i can fight him with his own strenght named close combat.
I like tau because they look nice and i like their weopons etc but i think i will quit playing them because its not fun when u always lose games in one fase : the assault fase. I know i will lose games to with my blood angels but their is a difference between i cant do anything back and they have fought for it but they where unlucky.
I' say tau exist very much in two phases, shooting and movement. If you stand back in a firing line and wait for the attack to come at you , then you may only get two rounds of shooing off before you die, but I've seen it done much better than that. Tau, I think, need to maneuver well to win, like eldar do. I'm not a tau players, but I've payed against them and seen them played.
I've seen 10 kroot come on from reserve, at the side, charge the side of a stationary tank and cause so many glancing hits that the tank lost all it guns then its engine and eventually was destroyed (auto hit because stationary, 30 attacks on the charge, more with a shaper, sixes to get a glancing on the rear armor if its 10 probably 5 rolls on the table).
I've seen volleys of seeker missiles that killed carnefixes and hive tyrants before they got a chance to get off their starting line.
I've seen pathfinders, kroot and pirahnas spread out and leave a daemon player soo little space to deep strike onto that half the army had to roll on the deepstrike misshap table, while the other half wend down to a volly of pulse rifles and rail cannon fire.
I fear deploying my tanks in front of the 5 rail cannon, 3 twin linked and numerous seeker missiles that my opponent deploys.
I think tau can beat anyone given their fair share of luck, they are just quite hard to get right compared to the point and charge tactics of some armies
Wel i dont play static but i have a mech list with 7 battlesuits, 4 stealth , 2 devilfishes with firewariors , 2 krootpacks , 2 hammerheads. So i think that this list have enough firepower onboard with high strenght and low ap weapons. I just think that the tau " coward " playstyle dont match with mine.
The brave men run
I think thats fair enough sometimes Tau can be slightly frustrating, having to back off for a better opportuniuty, its kind of like you react to their play in away, Tau dont seem to suit aggressive play.
Iim kind of getting worried by the fact my gaming club wants chaos to be able to use drop pods just like sm ones. Which will mean very boring games, ooh I start in reserve once again how fun.
If you have 7 battlesuits and 4 stealth suits you would think you would at least have markerlights
kroot outshoot chaos easy because of sheer volume of fire (unless someone actually takes 20 models)
if you can tell us what he took we can probabaly tell you something you can use and annihilate him with
His list is build around termies who must of the time will be deepstriked. They care melta's, heavy flamers. The anti tank is also spread around on bikes or raptors. As hq he use a sorcerer or a deamon prince. As troops normal marines, berserkers, chosen and he also have noise marines . It depends a bit in his troop choises. Sometimes he also have a landraider for termie transport.
But i prefer it to fight with close combat in combination with some firepower instead of pure firepower and also be scared to be assaulted. In that match with my blood angels , 2 devestators armed with lascannons killed in 1 round 7 berserkers. With tau i must aimed 75% of my army on it.
I personally think dento just would like a change form Tau, although to be fair 2 devastators killing 7 beserkers is about the same chance as 5 kroot hounds killing 7 beserkers
True its fun to change the warfare for me. Now i am outnumbered but i can hit hard. For me something new and fun to play with.
Really? I'm starting to actually feel bad for my opponents as I play Tau. The last two games I played my opponents forfeited, the five games before that I wiped out my opponents... It's just necessary to realize that one round of shooting from one unit will never kill another unit! When you figure out that the keys are focused firepower and whittling down your enemy whilst evading them, your foes don't stand a chance.
On a side note, please invest in Spell Checker.
My gaming group's new motto: That army you're using is overpowered because it hurts my guys, codex is broken and needs a rewrite.
Spelling is disgusting in this thread.
I believe you are probably not playing your tau, as tau should be played. You seem like a much more aggressive player, that would prefer to be in hand to hand fighting then some turns having to sacrifice a unit and run away with your others.
5th ed. has made playing tau for me, much harder in the aspect that I am constantly having to think of how I am going to keep the majority of my forces alive. Focused fire is the key... I won't lie though, I still have trouble with focused fire myself some games.. although I am much better nowadays.
