Tyranid Painting Blog
My local game store has a Finish an Army Challenge. So far, I've done about 112 models worth 2,200 points + a themed objective marker over 2 months with another 750 points planned for next month. As a part of the challenge, I took notes about the painting and objective construction, and wrote up a bunch of how-to articles. All of them are linked above. Hope this can help an aspiring Norn Queen.
Awesome! I am so using that pill bottle objective marker! Thanks for posting his up!
Your 'Nids look great too!
This is an excellent log and I love al the tips. I am just getting back into some painting and you have already helped me greatly, keep up the awesome work.
Those look sweet Tarnag. Great work on them.
For your metals, try priming black, heavy drybrush of tin bitz, second drybrush of boltgun metal, and then a badab black wash. It will tone down the color and make it not look so shiny.
Nice, I love the objective markers!
I'm going to try and make a second objective marker. I was thinking of a horizontal drain pipe with a genestealer arm sticking out or maybe someone's legs being dragged into it. Another easy one would be to have a vertical pipe with a hatch and have a tentacle coming out of it, trying to open it.
That's lots of cool info. I think your Kraken scheme is very well done. I liked looking at those painting guides they are interesting. Rep for thy workness.
