I've been putting together a proxy model for a zoanthrope (from various plastic bits and pieces in my bitz box), and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what size base the model is normally mounted on (it looks like a 40mm base in the pictures I've seen).
Thanks in advance.
I think it is the 40 mm base its the same size as warrior bases
40mm is spot on, I used to use Warriors to proxy them, now I have Ned Ted and Zed to hurl bolts of warp across the field for me!
I find the actual gw model a real pain, the head is so heavy compared to the body.
Thanks a lot guys - it's greatly appreciated
I'll try and post a picture of it tomorrow (when it's nearer to completion) so that you can see what you think.
Cool! I love Zoanthrope conversions of all sorts, and one made out of spare bits sounds promising!
Well it's not looking much like the GW zoanthrope, but considering how different the current zoanthrope looks compared to the original model - I figured I've got a lot of artistic licence to work with on this one
But I guess that as long as it's on the right size base, is made from leftover plastic tyranid bits, and looks fairly unique, then it'll do the job for me. The fact that it will not have cost me a penny is also rather cool, as money is a little tight at the moment.
I'm sorry - but I've not been able to post a picture yet because my computer has decided that it no longer wants to boot (I'm actually typing this from another computer).
If I manage to get it fixed I'll post a pic as soon as I am able... but in all honesty it's probably not worth the wait
Don't tease us. Show us some pics, even if it takes a while to get them.
Im quite interested in this; recently purchased 3 'Thropes and used them at the weeekend against a Marine player wit sum good results!
Granted, the model itself is a complete arse to put together (pin the hell out of it) or make it stand n anything other than completely flat ground.... but c'mon, it's a freakin' floating brain!
Bring on the pics, always good to see alternative views on a model!
