Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello, I have recently returned to warhammer after a 2 year hiatus and could not find any previous thread addressing my question.
I'm a little confused about the wording of spine banks in the Tyranid codex. Should I be reading it as "spine banks count as being equipped with [frag grenades and spinefists],in addition to any other weapons", or should I be reading it as ".... the same effect as a spinefist in the shooting phase, in addition to any other weapons"? In other words, if I put spine banks on a dakkafex, will he be able to use them in addition to both of his devourers in the same shooting phase?
Yes, you can shoot the Devourers and the Spinebanks in the same shooting phase. It's a useful little upgrade.
Monstrous Creatures can only shoot two weapons in the shooting phase, so I dont think you could shoot both Devourers and the spine bank in one shooty phase.
Spine Banks are fired in addition to any other weapons fired, don't have codex on me to confirm. Additionally in close combat you count as having Frag grenades which have changed since 5th ed so I don't know exactly what they do.
Nice catch cypher, they are pretty decent then especially for a few points on a carnifex.

Codex does say 'in addition to any other weapons'.
I have taken it when I had a few extra points to upgrade from flesh hooks. Its not something that I would go out of my way to put into a list, but if you have a few extra points laying around......well, its better than a poke with a sharp stick....
