Anyone know what gw and other big tournaments ruling is on elite fexes if your army isn't exactly 1500 points (I.e 1499 etx). I'm assuming its ok but if my club have issues i want to provide previous examples or big tournies allowing it.
Reread the Shock Troops entry on page 46 of the codex again. It specifies the game size, not the army size. So if the game is at 1500 pts, you can use elite fexes even if you army lists only comes to a 1000 pts.
EDIT: Remember, the fex has to be under 115 pts, not equal.
114 pt fex = elite fex
115 pt fex = heavy support fex
(due to the wording, "...total cost of less than 115 points..." in the same Shock Troops entry).

Thanks for the help, yeah the less than 115 points has screwed me out of a few lovely carnifex builds so I know that one well.
