Hello there all tyranid (and non-tyranid) players!
I've more or less decided that I want to give tyranids another spin. I've played them before, in third edition and a little in fourth. I played a big swarm list, and I really want to do something different this time. So I'm thinking about using the bigger guys. At least one, probably two carnifexes, some raveners, genestealers, flying tyrant, and warriors. only a handful of smaller guant units for objective purposes. Do these kinds of lists work? Do you have any insightful comments?
Thanks for your time!

One thing that you'll find with Tyranids is that any unit works, it's the combination and the manner in which you use them that leads you to winning. Certain configurations work better than other ones, Warriors with Deathspitters outshoot Warriors with Devourers point for point, Carnifex designed for shooting earn back more points than Carnifex designed for close combat, and so forth. Raveners are a bit expensive for their abilities, and aren't widely used, however I recommend that, if you like them, get one full squad so you can try them out. There's a lot of trying things out, so play lots of friendly games and find what you like. If you've got a basic army list thought up, post it in the Army Lists section so that we can see what you're specifically going for and so we can provide constructive criticism.
My gaming group's new motto: That army you're using is overpowered because it hurts my guys, codex is broken and needs a rewrite.
