Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi guys, in a game today i had 2 independant characters in a unit together. the unit was destroyed leaving just the 2 characters, and they failed the leadership and ran
-at this point everything is fien - 1 test taken as they were part of a unit during the shooting phase.
it gets tricky in the subsequent phases, do:
The characters form 2 seperate units and need to rally accordingly?
They run away and cannot regroup, forever entwined as a unit below half strength?
they roll a leadership test for both charcters and must pass both to regroup?
atm i have gone with they form 2 seperate units and rally accordingly based upon the fact that 2 models which are only ever bought as a unit of 1 being unable to join each other - only to join the same unit.
I don't think the characters could separate from each other before regrouping so they would just regroup together. They would regroup, however, because they are no longer part of the unit they once were. (the unit having been destroyed and all)

That is the way I understand it as well. Because Independent characters can enter and exit units whenever they want, it the unit were to be destroyed the character would form a new unit comprised of only himself and would therefore never be below half strength. Of course this begs the question, if a unit of five models are with an IC and they die in one turn does the IC need to take a leadership test, since technically the unit was destroyed and new unit has been formed of the IC?
