I’m building an Ork army and I am having a tough time deciding what to get next. Currently I have 64 Ork boys 10 Nobz, 6 Deffkopta’s and a War boss(all out of 2+ blackreach sets). Most of the games in my area run at about 1500+ so I’d like to start with enough stuff on the field to hang with that. I have a few Nobz with PK’s comming in the mail to go with the Nobz and the Ork boy Mobs.
But I’m not sure to go with the new 1. Battle wagon 2. 2-3 Killa Kans 3. Loota’s . I may get a lobba just because it looks like a cool model to paint. I feel like I have a solid base army with all my troops but what would go best with all those foot sloggers charging into melee?Any thoughts?
Fyi I mostly fight against Space marines, Necrons and the Imp’s.
I'd stay away from the battlewagon just yet. It certainly is a cool model, but without the deffolla in the set you'll miss out on what I think is the coolest wargear for your BW. This is just personal opinion, however. I will note that you don't really have anything worth transporting in it yet for the points.
Kill Kans are cool, but I don't have enough experience to reommned them. What I've heard is go all or nothing with them, so 2-3 won't be enough to survive the gunfire you'll be facing from the various shooty armies.
Lootas are darn good, not only are the models really cool looking, they have always been solid on my team. There isn't much that doesn't go down to a hail of loota fire. Point for point, they are one of the best ork units.
What you need is a trukk for those nobz. Then you could run a solid unit of 8-10 nobz w/2-3 powerklaws, painboy, cybork, waaugh banner and bosspole in a trukk with a ram. On foot, they won't work so well.
For the next step after that, I'd consider getting some lootas, and painting some of those boyz in a 'camo' paint job, to use them as kommandos. Killa kans are nice, especially with kmbs, but they're a rip-off when bought retail. I'd find a way to make them yourself. I made all mine out of barrels from a terrain set, extra guns, and random orky bits.
In short, what you need now is a transport for the nobz, and long range firepower. Good luck! ^_^

Loota's would work out as far as fluff go's. I'm painting them to look like the death skulls with blue. But one problem I have is that the Loota's boxset comes with half Skorchas and half deffguns(I think). I'd hate to have to buy like 4 sets so I get enough deffguns to make a worth whole Mob of them.
Does anyone know if it comes with the parts to give all 5 Orks Deffguns?
for what i gather, since you can make either 5 lootasor 5 burna boyz, you will have 5 burnas and 5 deffguns, im current in a similar situation, im going to be getting the battleforce soon, as i alread have the black reach Box, and am trading the SM's in it for the orks in another AoBR box. that will give me about 60 boyz, 10 nobs, 3 bikes 2 warbosses, 6 deffkoptas and a trukk.ill probably buy a unit of 5 Nobs to givr my unit Nobs PK and then try and convert the others to Nob bikers, just and idea anyway haha.
Beer, Pipes, and Guns... Dwarves had the right idea.
Ok I read the info part on the GW website and it says it comes with the parts to out fit the entire team either way. cooool... maybe a 10 Ork mob of these guys would provide a lot of cover fire for all my troops.
I bought a box of Nobz and was able to kustomize 15 nobz from the AoBR sets, so now instead of having 5 sets of 3 identical nobz, I have 20 unique nobz with awesome weapons! (5 PK's, 4 Big Choppas, 2 kombi-rokkits, 1 kombi-skorcha, 7 normal nobz (some with cybork), and a painboy (don't forget the ammo runt!)
After you do that, stick them in a Battlewagon, and off you go! Also, I field a group of 3 killa-kans with Grotzookas, they're definately worth it as well.
So in the new Nobz Boxset does it coume wih power claws enough for all 5 Nobz?
Three I think, but I'm not certain. There was a post made at the beginning of the new year about the new box releases.
I've recently become a fan of this thing called Dubstep. And you should too.
