    Wraithlord Striking scorpion conversion

cOk so here is my conversion for a striking scorpion Wraithlord who is a part of my cityfight army which is almost all Striking scorpions (hence the need for a SS WL)

C and C welcome (actually I love talking about my conversions, so please comment) but do remember that it is a WIP

    Cheers,
    -V

I first must say that this is an awesome idea! Great pose as well. However I don't like how the dreads turned out honestly... they seem a bit too much like hair and not enough like the tubular things with beads that the helmets have. I don't know if that's fixable now though. It looks fine but there is always room for improvement. The right knee could also use a small bit of cleanup. The tubing you did looks great but where the leg connects it looks a bit choppy and could use a smoothing. Overall, it looks great though and the rest of your changes look great, so don't worry too much about it.

Yea im not so sure about the dreads as well, the Green stuff I was using for that was old and chunky... I was thinking of picking up some beads at the local bead store and working with those... if I can't fix it Ill hock the locks. Thanks for the comments, its always nerve racking when you cut apart a $40 model.

If this one goes well, I might do all the Exarchs of the different aspects.

I think it looks pretty cool so far. I think what'd make it really cool is if you converted the sword to look more like the Chainsword the Scorpions have. I don't know how much skill that would require since I haven't done any green stuff modelling, but it'd really give the model a unique edge. Good work so far!

I guess the biting blade is too small for a Wraithlord then?

thanks for posting the GW golden daemon link, I coulnd't find it...

Your right, that guy did an amazing job, though I wish I had more pics of his to look at it more.

I think Im going to try something different with the dreadlocks, it has been buging me all day about them looking like real hair and not the tube things. I went to the bead store today and bought some things that I think wil help. They aren't tube like but I can improvise with them. If that doesn't work then Ill have to buy some more green stuff and do it the hard way.... OH well

As always, I love C and C, the most frustrating thing on a WIP thread is 100 views, 2 replies.

    Cheers

I had this one for awhile before I sold it. Never figured out how the person did it. Am trying to come up with stuff to create something similar. Really liking how yours is turning out...
Poor SM players, used to S4 T4 3+ saves that forget 40K is a sophisticated Rock-Paper-Scissors game and all they have is a pocket full of rocks.

that's some old walkers smashe together, but it looks great!

for your accord veahirin, i could say that a chainsword would really make it into a scorpion.

but i saw on one of the pics, that there were some things on the head, are they mandiblasters, cuase they don't look like mandiblasters.
