My apologies for leaving and not telling anyone about it. Migrated north for the summer, though it was a spur of the moment thing and I didn't get around to getting back to you.
But it seems that I have missed a fair bit around here. I have some catching up to do...
Anyway, I went to the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, and found a small gaming store that happened to sell Warhammer 40K. So I figured that, seeing as how this is probably the only place within a thousand miles to sell it, I may pop in.
It didn't have as much as a licensed GW store, but it had enough for ready gamers to expand an army. I'm talking the starter sets, battleforces, that sort of thing.
But I got ticked off when I saw the Dark Eldar figurines. Everything else was being sold at standard price, and the DE were being sold for at least 5% more.
Anyway, it would be good to know if you have come across any stores where you've seen above average prices, or if there is a particular shop you always buy your figurines at.
PS: It's good to be back.
Light a fire for a man, and he will be warm for a night. Light a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
An online store I frequently purchase from is Maelstrom Games. They have discounted prices and shipping is free worldwide. The link is MAELSTROM GAMES They dont always have everything, but the prices cant be beat.
(WH40K) Dark Eldar - (12,000pts) Sisters of Battle - (5000pts) Dark Angels -(3500pts) (WHFB) Dark Elves - (10,000pts) Beastmen - (5000pts) Empire - (3000pts) Wood Elves - (1500pts)
Count yourself lucky, Hawkuli. No brick & mortar stores have had even a single product for the Dark Eldar ever since I came back to the game. GW has apparently not shipping out any DE product under the reasoning that they will have a new line of models "within the next year." It doesn't bother me so much since I get most of my stuff from ebay these days, but it sucks that many new players don't get a chance to pick them instead of the more common choices.
I imagine the scarcity of product is what drives their prices up in your location, and not any ill-will toward them as an army.
hey hawk, as you and i both know well, that store in the city where we enjoy shopping for discount 40k is cheap. Went in there to buy some eldar shiz and i just laughed when i saw what was there. heaps of second hand warrior squads >.<.
besides that establishment, the store of the same name in geelong is great and another good idea is to shop on ebay ^^.
I understand if no one buys the Dark Eldar figs you have to jack up prices to compensate for the low amount of sold boxes. Still sucks though!
