Is this a viable starter army?
In case you don't feel like going to the page, the set contains:
- 1 Necron Lord
- 48 Warriors
- 6 Destroyers
- 1 Monolith
- 12 Scarab Swarms
It seems like a pretty good army to start off with. Plenty of Warriors which is what you need really with the Necron rule. I didn't buy that box, but that is more or less the army that I run with at the moment!...
Yeah, the overall savings on this thing is close to $100 over individual purchase prices. It's a great deal, and you're getting some quality models in there, unlike most other box sets that include a handful of crap models.
Quite right it is a good deal to get a hold of, also it is a good starting point for an army. It gives a somewhat balanced force to use, and its a good base to add to later.
That's the very box set I bought for my army. It's got more Warriors than youcould shake a Gauss Cannon at, a decent amount of destroyers, a decent Lord (the one with res orb and Staff of Light) and a big tasty Monolith. The only things I added were 10 immortals and three tomb spyders. In my opinion, all these things allows me to field a decent strength Army for nearly any points value, except for Apocalypse style games.
yep truly a great purchase I got this on top of my normal necron force then I went and bought the mono phalanx box after that (lol spending spree )
There is no "I" in "team", there is an "I" in "pie" however, as in "Meat Pie" with "Meat" being an anogram of "Team".
Not only that, but don't forget to use warstore or something to get the 20% off price! Then it's an even better deal. The monolith ALONE is $50. And the destroyers are an amazing unit!
