Can war walkers come from the side of the table in the 5th ed rules.
I forgot what the rule is called but i think its flank charge<<< i cant remeber.
They have scout so yes they can outflank.
Thanks for the answer
This gives me some good ideas
Be careful tho, because it is based on rolls now. Make sure you view the info in your rule book. Also, WW's are very fragile, and with the new squadron rules, even more so.
War is my master; Death my mistress.
Very true, the squadron rules are good in one way but bad in another.
I plan to use a squad of 3 for outflanking purposes, each walker with 2 shuriken cannons. It's fairly cheap, 120pts, and against some armies can be devestating. However, against other armies you are probably better off starting on the table.
Can you explain HOW they are good/bad with the squadron rules? I'm using 3 in a squadron now, saving on points for Spirit Stones due to the squadron rules.
Poor SM players, used to S4 T4 3+ saves that forget 40K is a sophisticated Rock-Paper-Scissors game and all they have is a pocket full of rocks.
It's good in that they don't block line of sight from each other (so you don't have to awkwardly manouever them around each other so that everybody can see), but it's bad in that multiple hits can destroy multiple vehicles.
A walker flying solo that takes 3 penetrating hits = 1 dead walker. In a squad it would take down multiple units.
I also suspect that walkers are taken in squdas to make room for those other tasty heavy support options (Wraithlords, prisms, etc.)
Not to mention the vehicle squadron rules that make immobilized results count as destroyed.
