Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi I played tau for a year but I curently switched to blood angels because I like their style more. I painted my tau army for 70 % and this is the result.
Like you see they are not all done.
Capitals and "u" is not a word.

The models are very well painted, however, personally, I don't like the pain scheme...

Yes , everybody has his own color favorites to use. I wanted to create a desert color sheme.

Paint jobs always look better if you build up a finish with multiple thin coats of paint.
You also need to tidy up the models and prepare them before painting. Removing flash lines and flash always makes the model look so much better; for instance on the XV8 you can see the flash lines on the Fusion. Did you wash the models before painting them? You should always wash models (plastic and metal) with warm water and a touch of washing up liquid because the models always have some releasing agent (used to facilitate easy removal from the moulds) on them and this can severely affect how the paint appears and adheres to the model.
The Hammerhead looks better painted than the smaller models; however some of the panels are suffering from the same problem. I really hope you do not see this as criticism for criticisms sake because that is not my intention. I hope you will see this as constructive help. Main point though is thin the paints and use quality brushes (that does not include GW brushes because their standard GW brushes are s##t).

No problem m8. I know that my tau army is not that quality painted like I wanted to had been. It was my first army so i did a lot of experiments with it. I think the firewariors have now the 3th kind of colorsheme.
I am now building a 1500pts blood angels army and I know I have ''more'' paintingskills atm. But i only want to create a good table top quality because i dont have the patience to create the top of the bill. I dont have foto's yet from my blood angels ( fleshteares ) but its far way better then my tau.
I actually think it looks effective with the thicker rougher style... Before I read your comment riki, I thought that was how it was suppossed to be and was layered to look so. haha
It definatly looks different, much more rough and battle torn, which is against the norm for tau, but in no way makes it look worse. It almost looks more realistic having battle damage on these vehicles and models then most of the perfectly painted ships you see getting around the galaxy
