Ok, let me explain.
There are some interesting parallels between the Eldar and the Tau, and I was wonderig about mixing and matching models (but focusing on one codex)
Farseer counts as Ethereal
Autarch counts as Shas'O (And making an Eldar-looking Crisis Suit fills me with glee!)
Dire Avengers as Fire Warriors
Devilfish as Devilfish
War Walkers/Wraithlord as Broadsides
Put a hammerhead railgun on a wave serpent body as Hammerhead.
Swooping Hawks as Vespid
Striking Scorpions as Kroot
Drones as Drones
Mounting D-Cannons battery to a skimmer to count as Skyray.
What other sort of conversions bastardizations could you come up with?
(X-posted to Tau Boards)
* "I'm Significant!" -screamed the dust speck
* "Call me old fashioned, but an evil ascension to power just isn't the same without someone chanting faux Latin in the background."
Or... you could just save your money and buy the appropriate Tau models once you have enough.
No offence, but I find this a horrible idea, as not only are you ruining some perfectly good models, but it will just get far too confusing when your opponents play you, especially if they are eldar or tau themselves.
 Orks Tau,
SM WHFB Chaos
Way to crush a guy's dreams...
Is the idea really that devoid of merit?
However, I'm not a great modeler or artist, and the amount of work involved is too daunting. But I hope someday to inspire some other lunatic to fulfill my vision.
The signature unit is the Hammerfex. In one set of scything talons, the 'fex is holding up the hull of a hammerhead around its waist. And in it's other set of talons -- or implanted on its head like some kind of bionic implant hat -- is a railgun. For the tau, it's a railhead. For the Tyranids, its a Carnifex with any one of the three options (they're all modeled on there, after all): 1. 2x scything talons; 2. scything talons/barbed stranger; 3. scything talons/venom cannon.
And then there are the Krootagaunts, Crisis Warrior suits, etc..... Silly, but nevertheless something I'd love to see someday.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Seems like an interesting conversion. I myself have a fully painted black and tentacle pink (damn you GW for discontinuing it) Sisters of battle army. Now what other armies use those colors? Emperors children. And it just so happens all my sisters make perfect slaaneshites. 2x deamon "princesses" using converted saint celestine.
Though it is a lot easier to convert imperial stuff into chaos stuff and vice versa. After all a rhino is a rhino. no matter what color it is. Where as a wraithlord doesnt make a very convincing broadside. And lol a carnifex makes a rather silly looking hammerhead
