I figured this out trying to save money.
This is a really simple (hence crappy) conversion.
The only thing you'll need is a splinter cannon.
Step one: Cut off the handle of a splinter cannon
Step two: Glue it on top of the part on which the handle used to be
Step three: Cut off the bayonet
Hence you have the ugliest sniper rifle ever!
P.s. I didn't want to put this into modelling because it's such a small conversion and only for DE.
Do you have a pic of one you've done to upload?
I might take one tomorrow and upload.
do you mean dark lance?Hence you have the ugliest sniper rifle ever!
and what do you mean by step 2, didn't you just cut it off of there in step 1?
Dear Game Developer,Caps-Lock, its like cruise-control for AWESOMENESS!
Rock is cheese, Paper is just fine
WWP and other Dark Eldar how to
Yes I meant a dark lance, just like it is said on the topic.
I just called it a sniper because of the fact that most players use the DL in their sniper squads as the weapon to snipe with.
What I mean is that in a splinter cannon, the handle points right and is placed NEXT to the part of the gun which the handle is attached to. What I meant was take off the handle and glue it on top of the same part.
I did something similar as I vowed I wouldn't buy more DE before I got mine back from my ex, it works great. If you want to make it look a little better you can carve out a bit of the bottom and round it out so you can mount it on his shoulder. I then took some wire and ran it from the weapon to a green stuff powerpack on his back. One day I will post pics. Anyway, hell yeah I will convert a .25c warrior rather than pay whatever they charge for the metal DL models
I'm against cheap conversions, sry, but I got high modelling standards.
I came up with a more elaborated way of converting dark lance, but it involves a lot more modelling.
The result however is so good that you can't tell the difference between the real and modelled one .
You also need a fair amount of bits to make this, but the result is worth it!
here's the result
