First off, I attempted to search for this info on the forum first, but the search function was not working properly, so here it is:
I heard just recently from a local GW employee that they were talking over different ways to fix the lack of an invulnerable save for Tyranids. The idea that they seem to have settle on, per our conversation, is one that I really like.
Apparently they have hit on an idea that is almost 100% likely to be in the new codex. Almost like old one eye, all TMC's will get a regeneration attempt, just like the troll regeneration that is in WFB. In other words, they will get a chance, and only one chance, per wound to regenerate that wound on a 4+. The exact number hasn't been decided on for sure, it could be a 5+ or 6+, but this is the current idea anyhow.
In my opinion, this beats raising their TO higher or giving them a standard boring invulnerable save. It's very fluffy and makes a lot of sense, and I hope this is the final decision.
On a lesser note, it is also being considered that ALL raveners will have the Red Terror ability to swallow models whole. This is pretty cool, but not as cool as regeneration.
What does everyone else think?
Great idea. Regeneration makes OOE the special character he is so why not having regenaratin for TMCs...as for the swallowing it is even more awsome...

Doesnt the Old One Eye regenerate a wound right of the bat? This would weaken him if they change it to a 4+. I like the swallow whole idea, but there must be some restrictions on the Ravener(they are not as big as a Red Terror!. All in all, this sounds pretty cool. But I will wait till the codex to fully trust it.
Like the regeneration idea, swallow whole is cool too.... but would be under more strict limitations with Raveners...
Speaking of the new codex.... does anyone know about what time that will be realeased? :blink:
My source for this, just as a reference, is very reliable. He told me just about everything about the new Bret. army book before it ever came out, and he was right. He also gave me the inside scoop on the new IG codex and he was right about everything he told me there too.
I don't think the swallow whole rule is too powerful really. I think that raveners only come in squads of three, which means that only three models could be swallowed whole. It actually becomes a big choice for the player, because they could either get several kills with a lot of attacks or they could only get three kills, but pick the models they want.
well the Raveners than can only swallow model whose strenght / toughness is 4 or less and items such as powerfist or D. strenght are taken into account, so there will no need of shrinking the unit size of Raveners, 3 of them get to easily shot to pieces
Yet I still need to get my question answered. Does the Old One Eye regenerate 1 wound a turn, with no roll needed? I know he gets up on a 4+. If they change him to a 4+ regenerate wound it would make him really weak, might as well take a normal Carnifex.
perhaps they will make the rules like this, some beast will need to roll for it while TMC regenerate automaticly in same way as OOE

Good, I wasnt cheating. It would be cool if you could get a wound on TMC's on a 4+, but than people will scream out cheese! I think that is way too good. Tyrants are already unstoppable in close combat, poor marines wont even hurt him now. Oh well, I will yet again say, I will wait for the codex to prove it.
