i need some help
i have noticed when i play i drop my avenger squad out of the transport shoot and then on my opponents turn he kills all of them no problem including the transport
its like their going for a suicide mission is 1 for two for the enemy (you kill their squad they kill yours and your transport)
I KNOW that you obviously have to support the unit when dropping them off when necesary but i want to know what you do.
what i have though of so far is to eather drop them in a forest with the transport behind i guess. Or speed boost across the table next turn get out shoot and charg or go into cover i guess.
Is there any other strategies that could work?
And also i dont know if this is true but i read on a forum that know in 5th ed you can move 12" drop your troops off from the transport and then move another 12"away?<<<<<<<<is this true ( it was something like that i think)

According to what you said I guess you are talking about Wave Serpent mainly.
If my memory is right when you move Flat Out movement (24") you get a 4+ cover save from enemy fire. So this can protect you vehicle.
Then for your Dire Avengers the best is not to drop them the turn your skimmer moved.
The best is to move you Wave Serpent 24", then wait their and hope it will survive or hide it in cover so it is protected. Then the next you are going to be able to drop your DAs out of the vehicule move them, fire at the enemy with Bladestorm and then assault him so you engage melee and do more damage to his troop.
I found my favourite thing is use your speed to isolate one unit guide doom it most of the it goes away and leave a counter charge unit nearby like a banshee squad in a wave serpant. so the enemy is less likely to charge them, on your turn jump back in and pick a new unit.

How are you losing both the tank and the DAs? normally I don't get out of the tank unless I need to or I have a very good chance of killing the only things that can assault me. With good placement you can normally limit return fire or atleast get cover saves.
The idea of moving dropping the unit off and moving comes from having star engines on the wave serpent ( they give you a move in the shooting phase ), I would need to look over the rules but I think this is illegal as a fast transport that moves or plans to move over 12" in a turn can't drop off or pick up a unit.
What i meant was that when i unload my unit from a transport a pie plate gets almost all of them and the back armor of a tank.
But no worries with your advice this will not happen again as i know what do do now.
