Right, so uh, we've all seen or otherwise heard of the new 4th edition changes that will be taking place when the new rulebook comes out. Specifically, do the new rules generally power up the necrons or generally power them down. Either way, what specifically powers them up or down? And finally, any suggestions as to how we may be able to adjust to certain changes? Let's hear it
well destoyers and heavy heavy destroyers are now even more mobile than before, necrons also benefit from high Ld
well like dreachon said, the destroyers and heavy destroyers will be much more mobile,
on the other hand though, necrons will now be that much more retarded in close combat, due to the whole sweeping advance being based on initiative,(i think???)
so we get some pluses but now it is even easier to wipe out an entire necron squad with a close combat squad
"I am the architect of fate!"
necrons were never meant for cc, besides you have always made plans on keeping the enemy from cc
Remember, you have LD of 10...So most likely you wont be falling back anyway.

*Necrons fail Ld test and run off the board.*
Necrons: We WON'T be back!

I suppose my main concerns with the new rule changes concern the essential elimination of the screening of troops. Since most armies have a decently high Ld, we may soon face the sight of our big guns being taken down through easily passed leadership tests. Additionally, the Initiative-Wipe-Out rule kinda bones us over, and even though we may be able to stay out of much close combat, there are some armies that are impossible to stay away from (I cite 13th Company as an example, as my past experiences have led me into much trouble with them). Any thoughts?
I won't be surprised to see more Lords with Destroyer body... :rolleyes:Originally posted by TheBigJake@Jul 22 2004, 06:52

both of my lords have the destroyer body, but they had that for the T of 6 so they couldn't be instantly killed by weapons with power of 10 (many of my friends include such weapons all the time). now that they have higher mobility though, that will be awesome.

the monolith will now be more important to our benefit than before, is a unit is within cc, best to teleport them out of harm
this might become a common tactic with necrons
