This is sort of a stupid question, but I couldn't find a straight answer for it elsewhere.
So I'm writing fluff for my kabal where a warrior rises to the rank of Dracon and finally Archon.
Is it possible for just a warrior to rise to the top of the DE hierarchy? Of course it's a big step as there's the sybarite phase in between but in time wouldn't it be possible? AND if it were, how would the promotion be recognized? Formal initiation with annals or just killing the Dracon before you?
Its entirely possible. You just have to be smart enough to pull of the deaths/disappearences of your rivals and eventually your commander without getting caught. Problem is that those above you got there by doing exactly that and so are typically one step ahead.
The codex has a story about a dracon trying to kill off an archon to gain power I believe so that suggests that it isn't so much as a formal promotion rather than a necessary filling of a position that you have conveniently emptied.
All a character has to be is cunning and deceitful which shouldn't be to hard for one of the DE
