Would it be possible to have a Wych that has become a haemonculus? Or are haemonculus a completly different breed of their own and are not just a warrior that has excelled in pain and torture kind of like an archon or drachon?
I don't think it's a matter of breed, it's more like a specialisation of occupation, Haemonculi are inventors, they basically fill up the role of scientists as well as torturers in the Dark Eldar society. It probably should be noticed that all Dark Eldar seem apt at torture its just Haemonculi are just way more practiced in it. Wyches are basically gladiators and professional soldiers, the best that seek to kill the best, in the most entertaining way possible. It would be improbable to have a combination of both, but i guess you could say that a failed wyche intiate somehow escaped with his life to become a Haemonculus. I mean the Dark Eldar storyline is pretty vague, so by all means fill in the gaps. If you wanted to make a leader to fit the profile i would use a Dracite and give him poison blades, he wouldn't get the +1 for two CC weapons but it would fit the storyline.
Yeh it is a bit frustrating having the storyline so vague but good in a way.
I don't think ill go with the wych/haemonculus anyway
Not even the Master Haemonculus Urien Rakarth can remember his own past (refer to his box out in the Codex) so at the moment there is no story line for reference here in regards to them.
But it is written that they are wise to the ancient ways and traditions of their own race (page 33) and they seem to like being who they are, so I can’t see that any Haemy would want to convert to being a Wych and loose their collection of ‘playthings.’
Now would a Wych want to be a Haemy? Well I think that they may dream of it but once they have a combat drug addiction I can’t see them changing either!
To me all Dark Eldar are of the Warrior cast and once they choose an ‘aspect’ or path like all Eldar are want to do, they are stuck with it.
I know that Eldar fluff says that they can choose many paths within a lifetime but I really can’t evisage this with Dark Eldar due to their hedonistic ways.
