I've just read the Tau vechile design rules and i've been trying to create a new Tau bike equivelent so here it is. but i would like to here about any other vechiles people have come up with
Tuna Grav Glider
Spec Rules: counts as jetbike
Weapons:TL Pulse Rifles and 1xmissile pod
my ideas for modelling one and at the moment its a firewarrior hanging underneath a warden gunship (BFG) with parts from a gun drone and random tau parts.
(and yes i know the name sucks) <_<

Thats a pretty good idea, the only suggestion i would make is up the points costs. and eldar jetbike only has twinlinked shuriken catapults, and its 35 points. TL pulse rifles are better by far, and a missle pod should make more points as well. I would make the points cost in the area of 40. The idea for the model is good too, id like to see it, it sounds cool.
"Aerials, in the sky, when you lose small mind you free your life. Aerials, so up high, when you free your eyes, eternal prize." -System of a Down
ya the cost is too cheap. Dark eldar are supposed to have the best point bikes
"There is no middle ground. Strike Hard, strike fast and strike first."
yeah, if you look at how much the missile pod is worth in points then you could tell it should be more expensive, but it is a cool idea, a tau jet bike would be awesome looking and have a crisis or stealth on it would be aweosme!
"Learn to shorten your reach! If your foe can come close enough to negate your striking power, all strategem is lost and when all stratagem is lost, the battle is lost."

I use I-kore models to represent Tau jetbikes, check out their site, the models have a real tau-feel over them (Synthia army grav-bikes).
But they have a burst cannon, and the models are not is suits.
Jozef, they sound good, any chance of the stats you use?
I take it they're not official GW rules?
Do the things
No, not official of course but here they are:
Team : 3 to 10 bikes.
Weapon: A single burst cannon.
Move: 12" and 6" in the assault fase (any direction).
Choice: Fast attack.
Upgrades: One model can become a shas'ui and have options from the Tau weaponry.
Slightly more expensive as a stealth suit, but much faster and no stealth abilities.
Lowering the cost will put people off, they will say it's just a selfmade super cheese low cost super model and refuse to play against them.
I have been experimenting with different upgrades but most of the time opponents will claim those are cheesy so don't bother (like a markerlight, seeker missile or some other weapon, or even a shield generator for 40 points).
Nice, and the points look about right to me.
Do the Riders have Guns too, like other armies bikers?
If so, Carbines might be best.
I think an option to have twin linked pulse rifles with recoil absorption might not be too cheesy.
I take it the Shas-ui option is the usual 10pts for 1 extra A and Ld?
Perhaps they could have turbo shield drones or something. Stealth get to stealth their drones, why shouldn't bikers turbo theirs?
Do the things
The models actualy have some kind of pistols in their hand so something like a pulse pistol (wow, tau with extra weapon in cc) would sound right.
Yes the shas'ui should be ten points extra .
Why would you want a twin linked pulse rilfe if you have a burst cannon ?
Maybe a crisis-suit weapon could be mounted, with the point-cost listed in the suit-entry.
But as I stated before, most opponent will find it too cheesy if you let the unit have a lot of different upgrades or special rules.
The same goes for turbo-drones, although I think of it a logical (good idea).
Where is everyone finding the rules to make Tau Vechicles. I play Sisters but my best friend plays Tau and I think hed like it.
