Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've recently gotten into 40k (never done anything like it before), and have decided to start collecting Orks. A couple of my friends and I were going to start together but they're too busy playing GoW2. They're also going to start sometime in the near future, but I'm going to get ahead.
I want to play 40k as a side, so I won't be investing much. No need to worry about paints and brushes and tools, I have all that covered. Also for rules I won't be playing until my friends start so I won't need the rulebook or codex.
I'm 13 years old so I have a very tight budget. Somewhere along the lines of $50 CA.
I would like some feedback on the best initial investment.
Thanks in advance.
Assault on Black Reach. It's an excellent boxed set, mainly aimed at beginners. You get enough in the box to be happy with.
Red ones goes faster - it's true :)Ork Freebooter Crusaders!3/0/1
Assault on Black Reach is the way to go here.
You get 20 slugga boyz, 5 Nobs, a Warboss, and 3 Deff Koptas to start you off. That comes to around 500 points.
Plus, you get a marine army to match. 10 Tactical Marines, a Dreadnought, 5 Terminators, and a Captain. Closer to 600 points.
And, on top of it all, you get the rulebook, dice, templates, and everyone's favorite whippy measuring sticks.
If any of your buddies are looking into marines, pick 2 sets up and split them. That's a good start to a solid army.
Also, if your modelling chops are up to it, you can convert any vehicles from toys, spare bits, cardboard and plastic, and really anything.

Even better than that, go to apocabitznow.com. For 48 usd, they have a black reach set with no marines and double the orks. 2 bosses, 40 boys, 6 choppas, and 10 nobs, and all for 20% less than gw
