Quote from Brother Zebadiah in an earlier thread:

Eldar.... Let me tell you something about eldar.

If you like cheese.... Don't play eldar.

If you like winning without even thinking... Don't play eldar.

If you like building the ultimate list that will take out any opponent.... Don't play eldar.

If you like having tough as nails, take on all comer, type units... Don't play eldar.

If you like finesse... Play eldar.

If you like a challenge... Play eldar.

If you like the idea of winning because you Out-smarted, Out-maneuvred, and ran circles around your opponent.... Play Eldar.

If you want to known as "That Eldar guy is spooky, you never know what he's going to try".... play eldar.

The Eldar are a Varsity level army. They are not for beginners or the slow of wit. You have to know the game, know tactics, and know your opponent to win with them.

The Eldar have some of the best fluff, best looking models, and very versatile themes.

Just some thoughts.
That about sums it up, and btw, try looking around for what your looking for before you post, as there are about a zillion of this kind of post in every army subforum.

EDIT:
try looking around for what your looking for
Hey, it makes sense...stop lauging at me... oh well...
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely...
but it rocks absolutely, too!

in my opinion, eldars are not the hardest army to play, it is quite easy (shooting army), Dark Eldars is the hardest.

since you are going to moved from tau to eldar, you 1st have to consider your playing style. do you want to play with a similar style to tau (shooting), or, more hand to hand. for shooting army, i would recommand alaitoc craftworld. if you perfer a hand to hand army, i would recommand biel-tan craftworld.

eldar are a great army. I think they are the most unique army. there are different craftworlds to choose from. You can make a cc army or a shooty army.

And as was said in the earlier thread,

If you have to ask us why you should play eldar, you probably shouldt, if you want to know what eldar are like to play that is a different matter
Everything you have been told is a lie!

check out dark eldar, as they have some great units that can be utilized to have great effects!! its either eldar or their dark cousins

don't go to the "dark side" eldar are alot better, and besides once the new rulebook comes out there was talk about them forging eldar and dark eldar together and making skaven 40k.
